Car Stereo Wars are a pop band formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2000.
Car Stereo Wars were formed in Melbourne in 2000 by Jason White and Matt Gillman after meeting at a computer animation course. They were joined soon after by Alyssa Doe on vocals and went on to release their first EP "Project A." The song "Broken" was then picked up for Ministry of Sounds Chillout Sessions and subsequently signed to Ministry of Sound Australia and released "They Asked me to be in a Movie" EP in 2003. [1] The single "Come to Nothing" was then added to the playlist of a subsequent Ministry of Sound chillout compilation.
The band released their debut album in 2008 "For Your Comfort and Safety" and has enjoyed recent commercial success with the track "Come to Nothing" being used in a Tic Tac television commercial in the United States and available as a free download from the Tic Tac USA website. [2] The track has also been used in an advertisement for DELL Computers. [3]
It is rare to see the band play live however they have made several trips to the United States for music festivals. In 2001 Car Stereo Wars travelled to Austin, Texas to play at the annual SXSW festival, [4] then in 2003 traveled again to the U.S to play at legendary CBGB's in New York as part of the CMJ Music Marathon [5] The band has also played some shows in their hometown Melbourne, usually only to support an album or E.P launch.

The Apples in Stereo, styled as The Apples in stereo, are an American rock band associated with Elephant Six Collective, a group of bands also including Neutral Milk Hotel, The Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power, Of Montreal, and Circulatory System. The band is largely a product of lead vocalist/guitarist/producer Robert Schneider, who writes the majority of the band's music and lyrics. Currently, The Apples in Stereo also includes longstanding members John Hill and Eric Allen (bass), as well as more recent members John Dufilho (drums), John Ferguson (keyboards), and Ben Phelan (keyboards/guitar/trumpet).
Frost were an Australian pop rock band, which formed in 1997 by Benny Bishop on keyboards, Lee "Lemon" Trevena on lead vocals and Tim "Porn" Powne on bass guitar. They have used several drummers including Jerry Speiser from 2002 to 2006.
Evermore are a band originally from Feilding, New Zealand, now based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The band consists of brothers Jon, Peter and Dann Hume. The band have released three platinum-selling albums, Dreams (2004), Real Life (2006) and Truth of the World: Welcome to the Show (2009) and a self-titled greatest hits album including three new songs. They have been nominated for seven ARIA Awards, and have won two Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards. They have won the APRA Silver Scroll songwriting award, and the Channel V Oz Artist of the Year Award.
Alchemist was an Australian progressive metal band from Canberra whose style combined death metal, progressive rock, psychedelic, Eastern, Aboriginal and electronic influences. The band formed in 1987 and released six studio albums, an EP and a compilation album. Work began on a new EP in 2010 but the band went on an indefinite hiatus and then split up. They are the only group to appear at every Metal for the Brain festival, an event they ran and organised from 1996. Alchemist also played at the Big Day Out and toured Europe several times.
In the Woods... is a Norwegian avant-garde metal band from Kristiansand, formed in 1992. The band have released a total of five studio albums, three singles, one compilation album and one live album throughout its initial existence. The band disbanded in 2000 and reformed in 2014.
Keep of Kalessin is an extreme metal band from Trondheim, Norway formed in 1993. The group's early lineup consisted of Ghash on vocals, Obsidian C. on guitars and keyboards, Warach on bass, and Vyl on drums. They released two albums under this lineup: Through Times of War in 1997, and Agnen: A Journey Through the Dark in 1999, before splitting up. Obsidian C. then toured with Satyricon, but revived the Keep of Kalessin name for a 2003 EP, Reclaim. In 2006, he reconstituted the group with a new lineup and released a third full-length, Armada. They toured with Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir early in 2008. Their fourth album Kolossus was released on June 6, 2008. They take their name from Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea series of books, where Kalessin is the name of the arch-dragon who is the bearer of the Earthsea world. Keep of Kalessin was nominated for a Spellemannprisen in the metal category in 2008.
Lost Sounds was a rock band from Memphis, Tennessee. Starting in March 1999, the band was made up of Rich Crook on drums, Patrick Jordan on bass, Jay Reatard on synth, guitar and vocals, and Alicja Trout on synth, guitar and vocals. The band, originally working within the garage rock genre, had a collection of analog keyboards Trout had used in her previous band The Clears. The bizarre combination of new wave synths and mangled guitars showed a dark wave influence as well. The band frequently dealt with dark, apocalyptic themes ranging from the Book of Revelation to the Columbine High School shootings (Blackcoats/Whitefear). The band's last show was in May 2005 in Stuttgart, Germany. Rich Crook currently writes and records music in the band Lover! Former band members have since formed Sweet Knives as a self described reboot of Lost Sounds sans the late Jay Reatard.
Shining is a Swedish black metal band formed in 1996 by Niklas Kvarforth in Halmstad, Sweden. The band's music contains depressive undertones, which include personal and suicide-themed lyrics.

The Pharmacy is a psychedelic/indie rock band from Seattle, Washington, consisting of three members: Scott Yoder, Brendhan Bowers, and Stefan Rubicz. They also have been known to record with a wide array of other instruments including strings, horns, and many different types of synthesizers/keyboards. They occasionally play live with bassist Aaron Khawaja.

Kill Your Idols is an American hardcore punk band from New York, active from 1995 through 2007 and again from 2013 to the present. They were signed to SideOneDummy Records. Their releases on SideOne were Funeral for a Feeling (2001), a split with 7 Seconds in 2004, and From Companionship to Competition (2005). Other notable releases by the band were No Gimmicks Needed and This Is Just The Beginning... which were released on Blackout! Records. The band released several 7" EPs, splits with other bands, multiple compilation tracks, and two full-length LPs in their 11-year run. Most of their records were released on vinyl as well as compact disc. Some were released on different colors of vinyl, different sleeve covers, hand numbered tour presses, and picture discs, making their records a favorite among collectors.
"Tiergarten" is a song written and performed by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. Released in October 2007, it was the third single from Wainwright's fifth studio album, Release the Stars. A limited edition 12" vinyl single containing "Supermayer Lost in Tiergarten" was released on October 27. A one-track EP also containing the Supermayer remix was released in the UK through iTunes and 7digital on October 29.

Sleep in the Water is the debut album by the Australian five-piece indie pop, dream band, Snakadaktal. It was released on 2 August 2013 through Liberation Music with Dann Hume producing. It peaked at No. 9 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Two singles were provided, "Hung on Tight" and "Fall Underneath" (November). In February 2014 The Sun II was released as an extended play, which included some remixes and unreleased songs from recording sessions for this album. The band had promoted it with a national tour in August to September 2013. It was the band's only studio album before splitting up in March 2014.
