Caracal International LLC is a small arms manufacturer headquartered in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The company designs, produces, tests, and assembles a large variety of small arms for law enforcement organizations and military personnel. [1] [2] It is a subsidiary of EDGE Group. [3]

In 2002, Caracal designers and experts working in conjunction with the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces started developing a range of modern pistols and accessories. [4]

By the end of 2006, Caracal International L.L.C. was incorporated and registered as a company in Abu Dhabi. [5] [6] With that, the foundation of a pistol manufacturing industry was established for the first time in the GCC.

The Caracal pistol is a series of semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Caracal International LLC a subsidiary of Tawazun Holding from the United Arab Emirates. The Caracal pistol series are the first pistols made in the United Arab Emirates and is the primary service issued pistol used by the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.

According to Human Rights Watch, there is substantial discrimination against women in the United Arab Emirates. The status of women has improved over the years. UAE performs better on metrics of gender equality than many other states in the Gulf region, and it has been making reforms to protect women's rights and empower women in different sectors. Critics describe some of these reforms as window dressing.

Provision of education in the UAE began shortly after the establishment of the federation with the inception of the first university, the United Arab Emirates University, located in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. Since then, the country has progressed with efforts of ensuring high literacy rates, modern programs and women's share in education. It works on improving its youth's education which is why the agenda 2021 has been set. The UAE currently devotes approximately 16 percent of total federal government spending to education. In 2019, the overall literacy rate was 96%, and in the year 2022, the literacy rate increased to 98.29.

Mass media in the United Arab Emirates is subject to government control and censorship. Media freedom is severely curtailed in the UAE. Most UAE media is owned by the government or by groups that have ties to the government. UAE law permits the government to censor content critical of the government. Journalists and writers who criticize the government are subject to repression.

Previously she was the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs from February 2016 to October 2017. She has also been the chairperson of the twofour54 since 2012 and of Abu Dhabi Media since 2017.

Chirag Suri is an Indian-born cricketer who represented the United Arab Emirates national cricket team between 2017 and 2023. In January 2021, Suri was named the vice-captain of the UAE team.

Shamma bint Suhail bin Faris Al Mazrui is an Emirati politician who is currently serves as the minister of community development of the United Arab Emirates. She previously served as the minister of state for youth affairs.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">CAR 816</span> Assault rifle

The CAR 816, also called Caracal Sultan or simply Sultan, is a 5.56×45mm NATO, gas-operated, magazine-fed assault rifle that is produced by Caracal International in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The rifle is also called Sultan in memory of the Emirati Colonel Sultan Mohammed Ali al-Kitbi who was killed in action in Saudi-led intervention in Yemen.
