Cardiel is a Skaterock band under the influence of stoner, the psychedelia and heavy dub.

History

Natives of Valencia, Venezuela, Cardiel formed in Mexico City in the middle of 2010 by Samantha Ambrosio (drums/vocals) and Miguel Fraino (guitar/vocals). [1] The idea behind the band was to make music for skateboarding videos, achieving the combination between the fast and aggressive to a psychedelic dub. [2] The band has gained notoriety among the skate sub-culture. [3] and has been featured by Thrasher magazine, being the first band from México and Venezuela to be featured with two pages article on the magazine [4] [5] [6]

They have played at important events for the skate community in Mexico, like the 30 years of the Thrasher Magazine party in Mexico, [7] Skate Rock concert tours with Thrasher magazine in Mexico, and the 50 year event of House of Vans in Mexico City. [8]

In addition to being on tour constantly, they have played at various festivals such as Sonic Blast Festival [9] in Portugal in 2019 and at Muddy Roots in 2023 in Tennessee. In 2015 and 2017, they played at the SXSW festival. [10] They have also played the Hell & Heaven Metal Fest in 2018, the Festival Palafoxiano, [11] the Doomed and Stoned Festival Latin America [12] among many others and have been featured on media music shows [13] and throughout Latin America, including Vice Media, Univision and Canal Once (Mexico). King of the Road is an American skateboarding tournament held by Thrasher magazine, founded by its editor Michael Burnett in 2003.

Blazing Wheels and Barking Trucks is Thrasher magazine's second skate punk release. Released in 1984, it was the magazine's first skate rock release on both cassette and LP.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chuck Treece</span> American musician and pro skateboarder

Chuck Treece is an American musician and professional skateboarder from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1984, he became famous for being the first African-American skateboarder to be featured on the cover of Thrasher magazine. His musical credits include starting the 1980s skate punk band McRad, remixing songs for Amy Grant and Sting, playing the bass line on "The River of Dreams" by Billy Joel, filling in on drums at a Pearl Jam concert, and touring with Urge Overkill, Underdog and Bad Brains. In 2010, he was awarded a Pew Fellowships in the Arts. Chuck currently plays bass in a thrash metal band called ACTiVATE. Treece drummed on the album, Mass by Canadian ska band, Bedouin Soundclash.

John Joseph Cardiel is a former professional skateboarder and snowboarder who has been a core member of the AntiHero Skateboards company since it was founded in 1995.

The company encompasses a record label, a music publishing business, a marketing, promotion and sales team, and distribution for independent heavy metal bands. It has become well known in the subculture of underground doom metal and adjacent genres.

Leandro Fernández is a Colombian-Spanish actor, musician and director. Son of actor and painter Domingo Fernández Adeba and brother of renowned actor Helios Fernández, and actress and musician Paola Fernández, Fernández studied on "Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes" in Cali, Colombia, film direction in Madrid, Spain and moved to Miami, FL where he has been promoting the Hispanic theater since his arrival in 1999.

Grant Taylor is an American professional skateboarder. He is the son of former professional skateboarder Thomas Taylor and won Thrasher Magazine's Skater of The Year in 2011. Grant's style of skateboarding is known to be fast and powerful. He is recognized for his unique versatile skateboarding.

Pablo Ramirez was a regular-footed American skateboarder, artist, and musician from New York City, who lived and skated in San Francisco.

Phil Shao was a goofy-footed professional skateboarder and journalist from Redwood City, California. Before his death, Shao was to be the next editor-in-chief of Thrasher magazine.

Mark Suciu is an American professional skateboarder from Saratoga, CA, based out of New York City. In 2021, Suciu was named Thrasher's Skater of the Year.

Natalia Denegri producer and writer, residing in Miami, United States. She began her career as an actress and host in Argentina, where she participated in TV shows, plays and a radio program. In the United States, she has won 22 Emmy Awards.
