Greenland is an island country that is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans,east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Greenland is the world's largest island,it is one of three constituent countries that form the Kingdom of Denmark,along with Denmark and the Faroe Islands;the citizens of these countries are all Danish nationals. Greenland is divided into five municipalities:Sermersooq,Kujalleq,Qeqqata,Qeqertalik and Avannaata. The northeast of the island composes the unincorporated Northeast Greenland National Park. Thule Air Base is also unincorporated,an enclave within Avannaata municipality administered by the United States Space Force. Greenland's capital is Nuuk.

Hans Poulsen Egede was a Dano-Norwegian Lutheran missionary who launched mission efforts to Greenland,which led him to be styled the Apostle of Greenland. He established a successful mission among the Inuit and is credited with revitalizing Dano-Norwegian interest in the island after contact had been broken for about 300 years. He founded Greenland's capital Godthåb,now known as Nuuk.
The Greenland national football team represents Greenland in non-FIFA international tournaments. It is controlled by the Football Association of Greenland. Although it has the same status as the Faroe Islands within the Kingdom of Denmark,Greenland is not,unlike the Faroe Islands national football team,a member of FIFA nor of any continental confederation and therefore is not eligible to enter the World Cup or other sanctioned tournaments. Most of the matches they have played have been against the Faroe Islands and Iceland,but neither of the two consider those games full internationals. In May 2022 it was announced that Greenland had officially applied to become a member of CONCACAF.
Nuuk Airport (Greenlandic:Mittarfik Nuuk;Danish:Godthåb Lufthavn;is an airport serving Nuuk,the capital of Greenland. The airport is a technical base and focus city for Air Greenland,the flag carrier airline of Greenland,linking the capital with several towns in western and south-western part of the country,including the airline hub at Kangerlussuaq Airport. With connections to Iceland,Nuuk Airport is also one of six international airports in Greenland but serves only destinations within Greenland and Iceland. International connections are made with flights to either Keflavík International Airport in Iceland or Kangerlussuaq Airport.

Royal Arctic Line A/S (RAL) or Royal Arctic is a seaborne freight company in Greenland,wholly owned by the Government of Greenland. It was formed in 1993,and is headquartered in Nuuk.
Carl Hartvig Ryder was a Danish naval officer and Arctic explorer.
Dr. Hinrich Johannes Rink was a Danish geologist,one of the pioneers of glaciology,and the first accurate describer of the inland ice of Greenland. Rink,who first came to Greenland in 1848,spent 16 winters and 22 summers in the Arctic region,and became notable for Greenland's development. Becoming a Greenlandic scholar and administrator,he served as Royal Inspector of South Greenland and went on to become Director of the Royal Greenland Trading Department. With "Forstanderskaber",Rink introduced the first steps towards Greelandic home rule.
The Southern Inspectorate of Greenland also known as South Greenland was a Danish inspectorate on Greenland consisting of the trading centers and missionary stations along the southwest coast of the island. Its capital was at Godthaab. The northernmost town of South Greenland was Holsteinborg,which bordered Egedesminde,which was the southernmost town of North Greenland. This boundary between South and North Greenland ran at around 68°N degree of latitude,and in the South,South Greenland stretched to 59°30'N,or to the southernmost point of Greenland.
Vilhelm Theodor Walther was a Danish architect and Royal Building Inspector for Jutland. He was born in Kongens Lyngby,Denmark and died in Aarhus. He was twice awarded the Academy's Neuhausen Prize for excellence in architecture and in 1885,he received the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Dannebrog. Walther completed a considerable amount of restoration work on the cathedral and St Paul's Church in Aarhus and designed a number of churches in the area. Walther died in Aarhus in 1892 of cholera.
The majority of the Greenlandic population is Christian and associates with the Church of Denmark via the Church of Greenland,which is Protestant in classification and Lutheran in orientation. The Church of Denmark is the established church through the Constitution of Denmark;this applies to all of the Kingdom of Denmark,except for the Faroe Islands,as the Church of the Faroe Islands became independent in 2007. But traditional Inuit spiritual beliefs remain strong in many of Greenland's remote communities.
