Carla Humphrey (born 15 December 1996) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Women's Championship club Charlton Athletic. [4]
Humphrey attended secondary school and sixth-form at Hinchingbrooke School in Cambridgeshire [5]
Humphrey started playing football for her local boys' team at Brampton followed by two years with Rushden & Diamonds. She joined the Arsenal Ladies Centre of Excellence in 2006 and progressed through the age groups. [5] Humphrey impressed through her time at the academy winning the FA Youth cup twice, the U17 league and the FA Development league. During her final season in the FA WSL Development League Southern Division she was the top scorer with 22 goals in 20 games and was voted the Players’ Player of the Year [6] [7]
Humphrey signed her first professional contract with Arsenal in February 2015. [8] [9] Following a 2015 season where she saw limited playing time, Humphrey went on loan to the Doncaster Rovers Belles for the 2016 FA WSL season. [10] [11] She returned to Arsenal for the 2017 FA WSL Spring Series. Following this series, Humphrey signed for Bristol City ahead of the 2017–18 season. [12] [13]
Humphrey signed for Liverpool in July 2021, helping the club to promotion back to the Women's Super League in her first season. [14] [15]
In August 2023, Humphrey signed a two-year deal with Charlton Athletic. [16] On 5 July 2024, she signed a new two year contract with the club. [17]
At international level, Humphrey has represented England at under-15, under-16, under-17, under-19, under-20 and most recently under-23 level. [4] [18]

She began her career with Charlton Athletic and played for rival London clubs Fulham, Millwall Lionesses and Chelsea Ladies after Charlton folded their women's team in 2007. Heatherson also enjoyed short spells in Iceland and the United States before joining Bristol Academy ahead of the inaugural 2011 FA WSL season, where she was also employed by the club as an ambassador. Heatherson represented England up to Under-21 level and was named in senior squads but never capped. She was named the FA Women's Young Player of the Year in 2004.
Josanne Potter is an English Association football Manager and former footballer who played as a midfielder, most recently for Reading. Originally a left-winger, she matured into a creative central midfield player. At club level Potter enjoyed three separate spells at Birmingham City Ladies and was noted for her crossing abilities and goalscoring record. She played in three FA Women's Cup finals – with Arsenal in 2004, Charlton Athletic in 2007 and Birmingham City in 2012. On the international stage, she often had to compete with Rachel Yankey and Sue Smith for a place on the left flank of the England team. After 2007 Potter worked as a BBC television football pundit. In June 2023, Potter was appointed the head coach of Rangers W.F.C.
