Carles Ensenyat Reig (born 20 February 1985) is an Andorran politician from the Democrats for Andorra who has been General Syndic of the General Council since 26 April 2023. [1]

Andorra,officially the Principality of Andorra,is a sovereign landlocked country on the Iberian Peninsula,in the eastern Pyrenees in Western Europe,bordered by France to the north and Spain to the south. Believed to have been created by Charlemagne,Andorra was ruled by the count of Urgell until 988,when it was transferred to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urgell. The present principality was formed by a charter in 1278. It is currently headed by two co-princes:the Bishop of Urgell in Catalonia,Spain,and the president of France. Its capital and largest city is Andorra la Vella.
Since the establishment of sovereignty with the ratification of the constitution in 1993,Andorra has moved to become an active member of the international community. In July 1993,Andorra established its first diplomatic mission in the world to the United Nations.
Joan-Enric Vives i Sicília is a Spanish prelate of the Catholic Church who has served as Bishop of Urgell and ex officio Co-Prince of Andorra since 2003. He has had the personal title of archbishop since 2019.

The historic and official language of Andorra is Catalan,a Romance language. Because of immigration,historical links,and close geographic proximity,Spanish and French are commonly spoken. There is a sizeable immigrant community that speaks Portuguese. Most Andorran residents can speak one or more of these,in addition to Catalan. Spanish was the most common mother tongue in Andorra according to mother tongue percentage statistics by the Andorran Government released in 2018. In 2022,Catalan became the most common mother tongue used by 55.2% of the Andorran population.
Òscar Ribas Reig was an Andorran politician,lawyer,and businessman who became the prime minister of Andorra in 1982. He twice served as head of government,first from 8 January 1982 to 21 May 1984 and again from 12 January 1990 to 7 December 1994.
