Carlie Andrea Mantilla-Jordan (born May 5, 1989) is an American actress and writer. [1] She is best known for her work on Angel Falls Christmas, [2] The Greatest Beer Run Ever , The Shinjiro Atae Documentary [3] and Groundswell. [4] She was named the Best Comedian in LA by the Los Angeles Magazine. She is of Mexican descent.

Biography

Mantilla-Jordan began her career performing stand-up comedy at the Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles.[ citation needed ] She later starred in the musical short Gangsta Waitress, which she co-wrote and which featured Lily Tomlin and Richard Lewis.[ citation needed ] She is the co-writer and director of the award winning digital series Your Mom Says Hi!. [5] Mantilla wrote the 2021 movie Angel Falls Christmas, in which she played Angelina. [6] [2] [7] The movie was aired on Amazon Prime and was in Netflix top 10 in over 40 countries. [8]

She won the NYC Winter Film Award of Excellence for Best digital series Your Mom Says Hi! in 2018, [9] and was named Best Comedian in Los Angeles by Los Angeles Magazine.[ citation needed ]

In 2023, Mantilla-Jordan and her husband John Eliot Jordan began co-directing a documentary about Shinjiro Atae, the first J-Pop idol to come out as a gay man. [10] The film is being produced by Fisher Stevens and Peter Farrelly. [11]

Sharon Jordan is an American actress. One of her notable roles is Irene the concierge in the Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Jordan also appeared as Irene in That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana, the first Disney crossover special with the three shows, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Hannah Montana, and That's So Raven. In addition, Jordan has co-starred on several independent films including Day in the Life of Doe, Rift, I.D., Dead End Falls, Blind, and Some Sunny Day.

From 1983 onward, Disney struggled with LGBTQ representation in their animated series, and their content often included LGBT stereotypes or the content was censored in series such as Blazing Dragons. Some creators have also criticized Disney studio executives of cutting LGBTQ scenes from their shows in the past, or criticized that their shows were not seen as part of the "Disney brand", like The Owl House.
