Prince Carlo Alessandro della Torre e Tasso, 3rd Duke of Castel Duino (born 10 February 1952) is the current head of the Castel Duino branch of the House of Thurn and Taxis. [1]
Carlo Alessandro is the only child of Raimundo, 2nd Duke of Castel Duino and his wife Princess Eugénie of Greece and Denmark. He was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Île-de-France, France. [2]
He is a maternal second cousin of Charles III, King of Great Britain, through their shared great-grandparents, King George I and Queen Olga of Greece, born a Grand Duchess of Russia.
Carlo Alessandro married Veronique Lantz, daughter of Gérard Lantz and his wife, Monique Rachet, on 10 February 1976 in Saint-Tropez, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. [2] Carlo Alessandro and Veronique have three children:[ citation needed ]

The Princely House of Thurn and Taxis is a family of German nobility that is part of the Briefadel. It was a key player in the postal services in Europe during the 16th century, until the end of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806, and became well known as the owner of breweries and commissioner of several castles. The family has resided in Regensburg since 1748 with their seat at St. Emmeram Castle from 1803. The family is one of the wealthiest in Germany, and the current head of the House is Albert, 12th Prince of Thurn and Taxis.
