Carol Pat Christian (born 1962) is an American former professional tennis player.
Christian grew up in San Bernardino, California and while at Pacific High School won back to back Southern Section doubles titles, with Pat Shellhammer. [2]
In 1980 and 1981, Christian played collegiate women's tennis at Cal State Fullerton for Titans Head Coach Jan Billings.
As a professional player she reached a best singles ranking of 111 in the world. Her best performance in a grand slam tournament was a third round appearance at the 1988 Australian Open. Christian had a WTA professional record of 45 wins and 47 losses during her career.
Stefanie Maria "Steffi" Graf is a German former professional tennis player. She was ranked world No. 1 for a record 377 weeks and won 22 Grand Slam singles titles, which ranks second since the introduction of the Open Era in 1968 and third all-time behind Margaret Court (24) and Serena Williams (23). In 1988, she became the only tennis player to achieve the Golden Slam by winning all four Grand Slam singles titles and the Olympic gold medal in the same calendar year. Furthermore, she is the only tennis player to have won each Grand Slam tournament at least four times.
Patrick Hart Cash is a retired Australian professional tennis player. He reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 4 in May 1988 and a career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 6 in August 1988. John Albert "Jack" Kramer was an American tennis player of the 1940s and 1950s. In 1972, he helped found the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) with Donald Dell and Cliff Drysdale, and was the first Executive Director. He was unpaid at his request. In that role, he was the leader of an ATP boycott of Wimbledon in 1973, for the banning of Nikola Pilić from the tournament.
Helen Newington Wills, also known as Helen Wills Moody and Helen Wills Roark, was an American tennis player. She became famous around the world for holding the top position in women's tennis for a total of nine years: 1927–33, 1935 and 1938. She won 31 Grand Slam tournament titles during her career, including 19 singles titles.
