Caroline Baldwin (born 1990) [1] is an American ballet dancer who is currently a principal dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen.

Baldwin was raised in Chicago, Illinois. She attended her first ballet class at age 11, and later trained at the Faubourg School of Ballet, while attending high school, and attended summer intensives at Houston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet School, School of American Ballet in New York City and The Royal Ballet School in London. In 2007, at age 17, Baldwin competed at the Youth America Grand Prix, and was spotted by the Royal Danish Ballet, and was invited to take classes with the company in Copenhagen. In 2009, she became an apprentice with the company, and was promoted to the corps de ballet later that year. She was named soloist in 2013, and as a soloist, she danced Odette/Odile in Swan Lake , and returned to the U.S. to dance August Bournonville's works. In 2017, she became a principal dancer. As of 2019, she is one of the four American principal dancers in the company. She had also performed for Queen Margrethe II. [1] [3] [4] [5]

As of January 2019, she is applying for Danish citizenship. [4]

Sarah Van Patten is an American ballet dancer. She began an apprenticeship at the Royal Danish Ballet at age 15. In 2001, at age 17, she became the youngest ever dancer to receive a contract at the company. Later that year, she joined the San Francisco Ballet as a soloist, and was promoted to principal dancer in 2007. She retired from ballet in 2022.

Thomas Lund is the head master of The Royal Danish School of Ballet in Copenhagen. Lund admitted to The Royal Danish School of Ballet in 1986 aged 11. He became apprentice in 1991, member of the corps de ballet of The Royal Danish Ballet in 1993, soloist in 1996 and was appointed principal dancer in 2000. In September 2012 Lund retired as a Principal Dancer to become the head master of The Royal Danish School of Ballet He held that position until June 2022.

Anna Lærkesen was a Danish ballet dancer who was a soloist at the Royal Danish Ballet. She had her debut at the theatre in the Bournonville version of La Sylphide as the first sylph (1959). She was appointed soloist in 1964 and was promoted to 1st female soloist two years later, a title that had until then only been bestowed upon Margot Lander. After long periods of illness, she was dismissed from service shortly before her 25th anniversary where she would have appeared in a production of Livjægerne på Amager in which she would have portrayed the character of Louise.

After receiving further training with Mikhail Fokin, she choreographed the once popular but now forgotten Strauss i Paris in 1932. In 1933, she retired as a dancer but continued as a trainer. As a result of her support of the Nazis under the German occupation in World War II, she was imprisoned for six months. In the late 1940s, she left Denmark together with her husband Leif and settled and taught in Madrid.

Valborg Bodil Emilie Borchsenius née Jørgensen, also Valborg Guldbrandsen, (1872–1949) was a Danish ballet dancer and instructor who performed in Bournonville's productions at the Royal Danish Theatre from 1888. As a soloist she is also remembered as Swanhilda in Coppélia, a role she performed 128 times to wide acclaim. She became the company's star ballerina until her retirement in 1918.

Mona Elly Hou Vangsaae was a Danish ballet dancer, choreographer and instructor. At the Royal Danish Theatre, thanks to her excellent technique and dramatic versatility she became a soloist in 1942, taking roles in Bournonville's productions and in works by the Danish choreographers Nini Theilade and Harald Lander. The roles of Julie in Frederick Ashton's Romeo and Juliet and Aili in Birgit Cullberg's The Moon Reindeer were created for her. After retiring from the stage in 1962, she became an instructor for Bournonville's ballets together with her son Peter Schaufuss.
