Triathlon had its Summer Olympics debut at the 2000 Games, in Sydney, when men's and women's individual events were first held, and has been contested since then. In 2021, at the delayed 2020 Summer Olympics a mixed team relay event was held for the first time. The sport, and its Olympic events, are governed by the International Triathlon Union, known since 2019 as World Triathlon.
Alistair Edward Brownlee MBE is an English triathlete. He is the only athlete to hold two Olympic titles in the individual triathlon event, winning gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. He is also a four-time World Champion in triathlon being Triathlon World Champion twice and World Team Champion twice, a four-time European Champion, and the 2014 Commonwealth champion. Brownlee is the only athlete, male or female, to have completed a grand slam of Olympic, World, continental and Commonwealth championships. Brownlee is also a one-time world champion in aquathlon. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest male Triathletes ever.

Rachel Klamer is a Dutch professional triathlete and member of the National team. She placed third at the Junior World Championships in 2009.
Lisa Perterer is an Austrian professional triathlete, winner of the 2009 Junior European Cup circuit and Austrian Junior Champion 2010. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she finished in 48th in the individual event. In 2021, she competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, finishing 27th. Vicky Holland is a British triathlete who is part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic team. Holland was the 2018 World Triathlon champion, the fourth British woman to win the title. She was also the first female triathlete to win an Olympic medal for Great Britain, a bronze in 2016, holding off housemate, compatriot and fellow world champion Non Stanford.

Beth Potter is a multiple World Champion Scottish triathlete and long distance runner competing internationally for Great Britain, and for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. She competed for Great Britain in athletics at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In 2019 she won the gold medal at the European Triathlon Championships in Weert, Netherlands. In 2022, she won individual bronze at the 2022 World Triathlon Sprint Championships, and silver with Team Great Britain in the World Triathlon Mixed Relay Championships. In 2023, she won the Elite championship in the World Triathlon Championship Series, becoming the sixth British women's world champion.
Julia Hauser is an Austrian triathlete. She competed in the women's event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In 2021, she competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan, but did not finish. She was also scheduled to compete in the mixed relay event but the Austrian team did not start. In June 2023 she finished second in the women's event at the European Games in Poland.
Jessica Learmonth is a British triathlete. Learmonth is a European, Commonwealth, Olympic and World Triathlon Series medal winner based in Leeds, England where she trains at the Leeds Triathlon Centre. She won the European Triathlon Championship in 2017 and took silver in 2018. She competed in the women's event and the mixed relay at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, winning silver medals in both disciplines. Learmonth won silver in the 2019 World Triathlon Series.
Georgia Taylor-Brown is an English professional triathlete. Having won bronze in the 2018 and 2019 World Triathlon Series, Taylor Brown won the one-off sprint triathlon race in Hamburg that constituted the 2020 World Triathlon Championship, becoming the fifth British woman to become world champion.
Hayden Wilde is a New Zealand professional triathlete. He was the silver medalist at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and the bronze medallist at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, the silver medalist at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the winner of the 2021 XTERRA World Championships. He finished second in the 2021 Super League Triathlon Championship Series, having taken the win at the SLT London race. Wilde won the 2022 Super League Triathlon Championship Series, having been victorious in 3 of the 5 series races.
Alexander Amos Yee is a British professional triathlete and distance runner. He won the gold medal in the Men's Triathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the silver medal in the same event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the gold medal in the Triathlon Mixed Relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and the bronze medal in the same event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With two golds, one silver, and one bronze medal, Yee is the most successful triathlete in Olympic history.
Bence Bicsák is a Hungarian professional triathlete and double Olympian. He was a member of the Hungarian 2024 Olympic Triathlon team and officially selected to compete in the men's individual event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where he finished in 16th place out of 55 Olympians who started the race. He was also a member of the Hungarian 2020 Olympic Triathlon team and competed in the men's individual event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Summer Games where placed 7th out of 51 Olympians who started the race. Post Paris 2024 Olympics, Bicsák's 7th-place finish at an Olympic triathlon event remains unsurpassed by any other Hungarian triathlete.
Ainsley Thorpe is a New Zealand professional triathlete. She competed in the women's triathlon at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
Anabel Knoll is a German triathlete. She competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She also competed in the mixed relay event. Knoll also competes in Super League Triathlon events. Knoll finished in bronze medal position at Arena Games Triathlon Powered by Zwift Munich, the first event of the inaugural Arena Games Triathlon Esports World Championship Series.
Zsanett Bragmayer is a Hungarian triathlete. She competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She also competed in the mixed relay event.
Taylor Knibb is an American triathlete and the 2022 and 2023 Women's Ironman 70.3 World Champion. She competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics, held in Tokyo in 2021, finishing sixteenth. Later that same Olympics, she won a silver medal in the mixed relay event. Knibb is the youngest woman ever to qualify for the US Olympic triathlon team. Knibb qualified for two sports at the 2024 Summer Olympics, triathlon and the cycling time trial.
Romina Biagioli is an Argentine triathlete. She competed in the women's event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
