Carolyn Jones (born 1944) [1] is a Canadian politician,who represented the electoral district of Saskatoon Meewasin in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1999 to 2003. She was a member of the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party. [2]

The Meewasin Valley Authority is a conservation organization created by the Provincial Government of Saskatchewan in Canada and is dedicated to conserving the cultural and natural resources of the South Saskatchewan River Valley. The authority's activities include education,development and conservation. Centred in Saskatoon,the Conservation Zone of Meewasin runs 60 kilometres (37 mi) along the river valley from the eastern edge of the municipality of Corman Park through Saskatoon to the western edge of Corman Park. The authority is actively involved in the River Landing redevelopment.

Kelsey-Woodlawn is a combination of industrial park nestled between the North West Industrial SDA and the Central Industrial of down town Saskatoon. It is still serviced by the CNR rail lines to both the north and east. There are two older neighbourhoods,one still survives near SIAST - Kelsey institute on Idylwyld Drive North,and the other is the McVicar Addition near the Woodlawn Cemetery.

River Heights is a neighbourhood in Lawson Suburban Development Area,Saskatoon,Saskatchewan. Its eastern boundary borders the South Saskatchewan River. The suburb is just south of the Mall at Lawson Heights. Development of the neighbourhood began in the very early 1960s,with full build out completed by the early 1980s. Most of the neighbourhood's land was annexed by the city in the late 1950s,with the eastern third of the district annexed in 1974. As a community name,River Heights predates the development by half a century,appearing on the May 1912 "Saskatoon and Environs" map that sketched out future development for the young city;at the time,the name was attached to a community in the current location of Montgomery Place.

Wilson Island is a small island in the South Saskatchewan River south of the city of Saskatoon,Saskatchewan,Canada. This island is protected by the Meewasin Valley Authority. The island is not accessible but can be seen from a lookout point at Cranberry Flats.
Roger Denis Parent was a Canadian politician who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan in the 2011 election. He represented the electoral district of Saskatoon Meewasin as a member of the Saskatchewan Party caucus. Parent died of cancer at age 63,just hours after his diagnosis was made public on November 29,2016,and within two weeks of being diagnosed.
