Yamunanagar City in Haryana, India

Yamunanagar, previously known as Abdullahpur, is a city and a municipal corporation in Yamunanagar district in the Indian state of Haryana. This town is known for the cluster of plywood units. It is also known for providing fine timber to larger industries. The older town is called Jagadhri. The Yamunanagar-Jagadhri railway station (YJUD) services the city. Despite its name, Jagadhri Railway Station is situated in Yamunanagar. There is also another railway station called Jagadhri Workshop in Yamunanagar. It used to be a green, clean and prosperous industrial city. Major Industries like BILT, Sarswati Sugar Mill, ISGEC, and Bharat Starch Mill are situated in Yamunanagar. However, the recent spur in Industrial units in and around the city have resulted in severe air, water and soil pollution issues. The city is turning up rapidly with the opening of multiplexes and various high end brand stores.

Northern Railway zone northernmost zone of Indian Railways

The Northern Railway is one of the 18 Railway zones of India and the northernmost zone of the Indian Railways. Its headquarter is New Delhi Baroda House near India Gate.

History

This workshop, earlier known as Wagon Workshop was established by the Northern Railway at Jagadhri, Haryana, in 2018, to carry out the periodical overhauling (POH) of rolling stock, both goods and coaching types.

Kalka Town in Haryana, India

Kalka is a town in the Panchkula district of Haryana, India. The name of this town is derived from the goddess Kali. The town is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas and is a gateway to the neighbouring state of Himachal Pradesh. The North Western Railway is one of the 18 railway zones in India. It is headquartered at Jaipur, with 59,075+ employees, 658+ stations and a route length of more than 5761 km across at least some parts of four states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. NWR operates international rail service Thar Express from Jodhpur to Karachi. This zone is the key enabler of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project by virtue of running railways 1,500 km long Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.

Southern Railway zone

The Southern Railway, headquartered at Chennai, is one of the 18 zones of Indian Railways. It is the earliest of the 18 zones of the Indian Railways created in independent India. It was created on 14 April 1951 by merging three state railways, namely, the Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway, the South Indian Railway Company, and the Mysore State Railway. The South Indian Railway was originally created in the British colonial times as Great Southern India Railway Co founded in Britain in 1853 and registered in 1859. Its original headquarters was in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) and was registered as a company in London only in 1890. At present, after re-organization of existing railway zones and creation of new zones undertaken by the Indian Railways between 2002-03, Southern Railway has emerged as the 2nd largest zone after undertaking some gauge conversion projects and creation of new lines.

The North Central Railway is one of the 18 railway zones in India. The largest railway station in NCR is Kanpur Central. It is headquartered at Allahabad and comprises three divisions: reorganized Allahabad division of the erstwhile Northern Railway, Jhansi division of the erstwhile Central Railway, and new Agra division.

Ambala City in Haryana, India

Ambala, is a city and a municipal corporation in Ambala district in the state of Haryana, India, located on the border with the Indian state of Punjab and in proximity to both states capital Chandigarh. The Golden Rock Railway Workshop, in Ponmalai, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, is one of three railway workshops serving the southern zone of the Indian Railways. The workshop is part of the railway's Mechanical Department. The other two Southern Railway workshops are in Perambur, Chennai.

Perambur railway station is in Perambur, Chennai, one of the important stations in Chennai, in the Chennai Beach/Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway network. Lancaster Carriage and Wagon Works

The former Lancaster Carriage and Wagon Works is located in Caton Road, Lancaster, Lancashire, England. The works produced railway rolling stock and trams. The buildings were designed by the local architect E. G. Paley. After the company moved its business elsewhere, the building was used during the First World War for the internment of enemy aliens. It is listed at Grade II, and, as of 2011, is in use as an office, warehouse and factory.

Mughalsarai Junction railway station

Mughalsarai Jn., officially known as Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, is a railway station in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the fourth busiest railway junction in India. The Mughalsarai–Kanpur section is a railway line connecting Mughalsarai Junction and Kanpur Central. This 346 km (215 mi) track is part of the Howrah-Delhi main line and Howrah-Gaya-Delhi line. The main line is under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway. Mughalsarai is under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway. The Moradabad – Ambala line is a railway line connecting Moradabad in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and Ambala Cantonment in Haryana. The line is under the administrative jurisdiction of Northern Railway.

The Jodhpur–Bathinda line connects Jodhpur, in the Indian state of Rajasthan to Bathinda in the Punjab, via Dabwali Railway in Haryana. During the British Raj, Bathinda was on the Delhi-Karachi line and after independence and partition of India in 1947, it is on the Delhi-Fazilka line. This line operates under the jurisdiction of North Western Railway.

The Bathinda–Rewari line is a railway line connecting Bathinda in the Indian state of the Punjab and Rewari in Haryana. There are links to Sadulpur and Rohtak also. The line is under the administrative jurisdiction of Northern Railway.

Yamunanagar-Jagadhri railway station is a station on the Moradabad-Ambala line. It is located in the Indian state of Haryana.

Bikaner railway division

Bikaner railway division is one of the four railway divisions under North Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. This railway division was formed on 5 November 1951 and its headquarter is located at Bikaner in the state of Rajasthan of India.
