Carrie Besnette Hauser is an American academic administrator serving as the ninth president of Colorado Mountain College from 2013 to 2024.
Hauser was raised in Flagstaff,Arizona. [1] She graduated from Flagstaff High School. [2] Hauser completed a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies including business administration,political science,and communications from the University of Arizona. [3] She earned a master's degree and doctorate in higher education policy from the University of California,Los Angeles. [3]
Hauser was the vice president for institutional advancement and external relations at Metropolitan State University of Denver. [3] In 2013,she was a senior fellow of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. [3] In 2013,she was selected as the ninth president of Colorado Mountain College. [4] From 2022 to 2023,she served as the chair of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission. [1] In March 2024,Hauser announced that she would step down from her position as president in August 2024. Katharine Bartlett (1907–2001) was an American physical anthropologist who worked from 1930 to 1952 as the first curator of the Museum of Northern Arizona,cataloging and organizing the museum's holdings,and then as the museum's librarian until 1974 and archivist until 1981. Honored in an exhibit of the Smithsonian Institution in 1986 and a recipient of the 1991 Sharlot Hall Award for her contributions to Arizona history,she was posthumously inducted into the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame in 2008.
