Cartiera Mantovana is one of the oldest Italian paper manufacturers[ citation needed ] founded in 1615 and located in Mantua. Since the 17th century, it has been operated by the Marenghis, a noble family, and is now a member of the Henokiens association. [1]

In 2015, the company celebrated their 400th anniversary with about 200 employees. Today, over 50% of its production is exported mainly to European countries. [2]

"La Mantovana" or "Il Ballo di Mantova" is a popular sixteenth-century song attributed to the Italian tenor Giuseppe Cenci, also known as Giuseppino del Biado, to the text Fuggi, fuggi, fuggi da questo cielo. Its earliest known appearance in print is in Biado's collection of madrigals of the year 1600.
