Cascade is a former town in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. The GNIS classifies it as a populated place. [1]
Cascade was platted in 1892. [2] A post office was established at Cascade in 1893, and remained in operation until 1904. [3] A large gristmill operated there, but after the mill closed there was little else to mark the site of the former community. [2]

The county was created in 1820 and later organized in 1834. Its name is in honor of Israel Putnam, a colonial hero in the French and Indian War, who served as a general in the American Revolutionary War. The Blanchard River, which passes through the county, was a key transportation route for early European-American settlers.
