Listowel is a heritage market town in County Kerry, Ireland. It is on the River Feale, 28 km (17 mi) from the county town, Tralee. The town of Listowel had a population of 4,794 according to the 2022 census, the third largest in the county. Listowel is also the name of a townland within the town and an encompassing civil parish.

The River Feale rises near Rockchapel in the Mullaghareirk Mountains of County Cork in the southwest of Ireland and flows northwestwards for 75 kilometres through Abbeyfeale in County Limerick and Listowel in County Kerry before finally emptying into Cashen Bay, a wide estuary north of Ballyduff. Then it flows out through the Shannon's estuary and joins with the Atlantic Ocean with a flow rate of 34.6 m2/s. The river, along with its tributaries, combine to add to over 160 km of waterways. For the final 10 km stretch it is known as the Cashen River. The river contains a large salmon and sea trout population.
Dingle Bay is a bay located in County Kerry, western Ireland. The outer parts of the Dingle Peninsula and Dingle Bay mark one of the westernmost points of mainland Ireland. The harbour town of Dingle lies on the north side of the bay.
Tralee Bay is located in on the west coast of County Kerry, Ireland. It is situated between Kerry Head on the north side and the Maharees on the west and extends eastwards as far as the bridge at Blennerville. Kilrush Marina is a locked marina in Kilrush Harbour, Kilrush, County Clare, Ireland. It has a well equipped marina services building, with an extensive boatyard, including a large indoor boat storage and repair facility. Many boats from other leisure boating centres on the West Coast of Ireland winter in Kilrush. Originally funded by Shannon Development the marina has grown to be an integral part of the local economy. The marina is used as a base for day trips to Scattery Island and for Dolphin Watch cruises.
The North Kerry Senior Football Championship is a Gaelic football competition for GAA clubs affiliated to the North Kerry Football Board, a division of Kerry GAA. The official name of the competition became The Bernard O'Callaghan Memorial North Kerry Senior Football Championship in 2000, in honour of the late Bernie O'Callaghan (Beale) who was Chairman of the North Kerry GAA Board for 25 years and did a huge amount of work for North Kerry football.
The Championship runs from October to December each year but has on occasion continued into the New Year due to replays and postponements. It is currently sponsored by McMunn's Bar and Restaurant, Ballybunion.The current (2023) holders of the cup are Ballydonoughue who defeated St. Senan's, winning the competition for the 10th time in the club’s history.

John Bunyan was a dual player from County Kerry. He played both football and hurling with Kerry during the 1970s. Originally from Ballydonoghue Johnny joined up with neighbouring Ballyduff who are more well known for hurling rather than football. Bunyan would go on to be a great player at both codes. In football, he won a Munster Under-21 Football Championship in 1968 and an All Ireland Senior medal in 1975. He played at full forward in the Munster Final having a notable battle with Humphrey Kelliher of Cork and also in the All Ireland semi-final against Sligo. He was omitted from the team for the final against Dublin. On the same day in 1975 his brother Robert captained the Kerry Minors to All Ireland victory over Tyrone. In hurling he also had success winning an All-Ireland Junior Hurling Championship medal in 1972 and an All-Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship in 1976.
Ballydonoghue GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in north County Kerry, Ireland. It fields Gaelic football teams at underage and adult levels. All teams represent the parish of Ballydonoghue which contains the village of Lisselton. The club's home ground is Denis Dowling Park, Coolard. The club is affiliated to the North Kerry Football Board and is one of six clubs which form the Shannon Rangers divisional side which competes in the Kerry Senior Football Championship. The club was founded during the 1930s following the amalgamation of several smaller teams. Several Ballydonoghue players have played on the Kerry inter-county football team, including three club members who were on the Kerry team that contested the 1947 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final at the Polo Grounds in New York.

Founded in 1940, the team compete in the Kerry Senior Football Championship, which they have won on 5 occasions. They also won the inaugural Munster Senior Club Football Championship in 1964.
The 2000 Kerry Senior Football Championship was the 100th staging of the Kerry Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Kerry County Board in 1889. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on May 9, 2000. The championship ran from 11 June to 26 November 2000.
