Cathrine Margrethe Gjerpen (born 18 September 1987) is a Norwegian sailor. She was born in Oslo, and represents the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she placed 28th in the Laser Radial class. [1]

Gjerpen Church was the main church for the municipality.

Margit Schiøtt, née Knudsen was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. She was born in Gjerpen, a daughter of the Norwegian Prime Minister Gunnar Knudsen. Her husband was dr. ing. Didrik Cappelen Schiøtt (1887–1958) and they lived at Gulset in Skien, Norway, where they also owned a little farm. They had no children.

Kjerstin Andersen is a Norwegian former team handball goalkeeper and Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul with the Norwegian national team.

Gjerpen Church is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Skien Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. It is located in the town of Skien. It is one of the churches for the Gjerpen parish which is part of the Skien prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The tan, stone church was built in a cruciform design around the year 1153 using plans drawn up by an unknown architect. The church seats about 485 people.
