The Cavaleri Quartet was a British string quartet. It gained a reputation as one of the leading European string quartets before it disbanded.
The quartet was formed in 2008 by Anna Harpham (violin), Ciaran McCabe (violin), Ann Beilby (viola) and Rowena Calvert (cello). Martyn Jackson (violin) also played with the quartet. [1]
McCabe now plays with the Maggini Quartet. [2]
In 2011 they were recipients of the special prize for the best performance of a new quartet at the Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition.
They won first prize at the 2012 Hamburg International Chamber Music Competition. At Hamburg, they were also awarded the Mendelssohn Prize of the Oscar and Vera Ritterman Foundation, [3] and the Brahms Society Prize.
They won second prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2014.
Scott St. John is a Canadian violinist and violist. A recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant, he was a member of the St. Lawrence String Quartet and on the faculty of Stanford University, where he taught violin and chamber music.

The Sacconi Quartet is a UK-based classical music string quartet founded in 2001 by four graduates of the Royal College of Music, London, UK. The Quartet has achieved widespread recognition, having given recitals in leading British concert halls and at music festivals in Britain and across Europe. They have also won several major prizes in string quartet and chamber music competitions. The Quartet is named for the outstanding twentieth-century Italian violin maker and restorer Simone Sacconi, whose book The Secrets of Stradivari is considered an indispensable reference for violin makers.

The Vlach Quartet is the name of two consecutive classical string quartet musical ensembles, based in Prague, both of which were founded by members of the Vlach family. The original Vlach Quartet was founded by Josef Vlach in 1950 and wound up in 1975.
