The Cavan-Monaghan rivalry is a Gaelic football rivalry between Irish county teams Cavan and Monaghan, who first played each other in 1888. It is considered to be one of the biggest rivalries in Ulster Gaelic games. [1] Cavan's home ground is Kingspan Breffni Park and Monaghan's home ground is St Tiernach's Park.

The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2005, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2005 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the premier Gaelic football competition in 2005. It consisted of 33 teams and began on Saturday 7 May 2005. Few surprises came during the championship with the dominance of the Ulster teams evident once again. Gaelic football's "Big Three" of this era - Armagh, Kerry, Tyrone - all progressed to the semi-finals.
Breffni Park, known for sponsorship reasons as Kingspan Breffni, is a GAA stadium in Cavan, Ireland. It is the home of Cavan GAA. The ground has an overall capacity of about 25,030 with a 5,030 seated capacity. Breffni is the historic name for the area of counties Cavan and Leitrim. Cavan is often referred to as the Breffni County. Kingspan Breffni is located on Park Lane to the south of Cavan town. Breffni Park hosted the first test in the 2006 Ladies' International Rules Series between Ireland and Australia. It also hosted the first test during the 2013 International Rules Series.
Páirc Esler is a GAA stadium in Newry, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It is the home of the Down Gaelic football and hurling teams and the Newry Shamrocks GAA club. The ground has a capacity of about 20,000. Contrary to popular belief Páirc Esler is located within County Armagh, making Down one of the only counties in Ireland not to have their own ground within the county.

Magheracloone Mitchells is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club from the parish of Magheracloone in County Monaghan, Ireland. The team participate in the Monaghan Senior Football Championship. The Magheracloone Mitchells GAA club pitch is situated on the main Carrickmacross-Kingscourt Road. On the site there are two pitches, modern changing rooms as well as a community centre and a handball alley.

Gortakeegan is an association football venue in the Republic of Ireland based in Monaghan. It has been the home ground of former League of Ireland club Monaghan United since 1988. The ground has an 528-seater covered stand and an overall capacity of 5,000. Floodlights were added in 1995 and a new stand was officially opened by Mick McCarthy in 1996.
