Cedric Jacquemyn (born 8 December 1987) is a Belgian fashion designer and alumnus of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. His style is focused on craftsmanship and said to be "darkly romantic". [1] Cedric Jacquemyn has a conceptual approach, his collections are influenced by history and politics. His work is distinguished by skill and craftsmanship. He experiments with different materials, such as horse leather and copper.

Label

Cedric Jacquemyn graduated in 2010 from the Antwerp Academy, [2] [3] walking in the footsteps of previous alumni such as Martin Margiela and Ann Demeulemeester. After graduating he decided to start a label under his own name [4] in a continuing artistic dialogue with photographer Yves De Brabander. [5] In January 2011 he presented his first collection The Last Glacier - A/W 2011-12 at Paris Fashion Week in the showroom of pioneering concept store RA. [6] The collection was a continuation on his graduation collection The Last Glacier S/S 2011, based on human impact on nature. [7] Jacquemyn's Glacier collection was inspired by a trip to the glaciers in Iceland.
During London Fashion Week 2012, Jacquemyn was one of the "emerging fashion talents from Belgium" presented by the Flanders Fashion Institute, the British Fashion Council and the British Council, together with over 80 international emerging designers. [8]
In 2014 Cedric Jacquemyn was nominated for the International Woolmark Prize in the category "Europe nominees: Menswear". [9] [10]
Cedric Jacquemyn was included at the exhibition "The Belgians, An Unexpected Fashion Story" in 2015 at Bozar, Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels. [11]
In the fifteenth collection Geworfenheit, pt II the label opted to focus for complicated tailoring and premium materials. [12]
The craftsmanship of Cedric Jacquemyn is appreciated by artists such as American designer Andrew Yang, who referred to him as his favorite Belgian fashion designer, [13] and the Belgian musician Tamino, who regularly wears Jacquemyn's pieces during concerts. [14] On the cover of his first full-length album Amir, Tamino wears a necklace from Jacquemyn's jewelry collection.

In September 2022, Jacquemyn started a position as Visiting Professor lecturing Fashion Design at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Lebanon. [15]

Devon Halfnight LeFlufy is a Canadian fashion designer based in Antwerp, Belgium. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, graduating with both a BA and MA in Fashion Design. LeFlufy trained under Maria Cornejo and Walter Van Beirendonck before starting his namesake label in 2013. The designer is highly regarded for his innovation and punctilious details inside accessible silhouettes and familiar idioms.

Ioana Ciolacu Miron is a Romanian fashion designer. She received a Designer for Tomorrow Award from Stella McCartney, and has founded her own sustainable fashion Ioana Ciolacu label.

Maison Margiela, formerly Maison Martin Margiela, is a French luxury fashion house founded by Belgian designer Martin Margiela and Jenny Meirens in 1988 and headquartered in Paris. The house produces both haute couture-inspired artisanal collections and ready-to-wear collections, with the former influencing the designs of the latter. Product lines include womenswear, menswear, jewellery, footwear, accessories, leather goods, perfumes and household goods. Known for deconstructive and avant-garde designs with unconventional materials, Maison Margiela has traditionally held live shows in unusual settings, for example empty metro stations and street corners. Models' faces are often obscured by fabric or long hair to direct attention to the clothes and design. Margiela resigned as creative designer in 2009 and John Galliano was appointed to the role in 2014.

Linda Loppa is a Belgian fashion designer and fashion consultant. For nine years, she served as the director of Polimoda in Florence, Italy and is now its strategy and vision advisor.
