The Centro Oriental Rio-Grandense (Eastern Center of Rio Grande) is one of the seven Mesoregion of the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. It consists of 54 municipalities, grouped in three Microregions: [1]

A mesoregion was a subdivision of the Brazilian states, grouping together various municipalities in proximity and with common characteristics. They were extinguished in 2017 and replaced by "intermediary geographic regions". The mesoregions were created by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics for statistical purposes and do not, therefore, constitute an administrative area. They are further divided into microregions.

Geographic coordinate system Coordinate system

A geographic coordinate system is a coordinate system that enables every location on Earth to be specified by a set of numbers, letters or symbols. The coordinates are often chosen such that one of the numbers represents a vertical position and two or three of the numbers represent a horizontal position; alternatively, a geographic position may be expressed in a combined three-dimensional Cartesian vector. A common choice of coordinates is latitude, longitude and elevation. To specify a location on a plane requires a map projection.
