Chad & Jeremy Sing for You is the second studio album by the English duo Chad & Jeremy. [2] It was released in the United States in January 1965, and it was their last album to be released under World Artists. [3] It is not to be confused with the British release of the same name, which contains different tracks. [4] Another take on "What Do You Want With Me" was released on their next album, Before and After .

The album was re-released in its entirety, along with various alternate takes and demos, as part of the 2-disc set, Yesterday's Gone: The Complete Ember & World Artists Recordings (2016). [5]

Chad & Jeremy were a British musical duo consisting of Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde, who began working in 1962 and had their first hit song in the UK with "Yesterday's Gone" (1963). That song became a hit in the United States in the following year as part of the British Invasion. Unlike the rock-music sounds of their peers, Chad & Jeremy performed in a soft, folk-inflected style that is characterised by hushed and whispered vocals. The duo had a string of hits in the United States, including "Willow Weep for Me", "Before and After", and their biggest hit, "A Summer Song". After some commercial failures and divergent personal ambitions, Chad & Jeremy disbanded in 1968.

Play It Again is a British record label formed in Droitwich, Worcestershire, in November 1989, by Geoff Leonard, Gareth Bramley and Pete Walker. Leonard had had an idea of releasing some of John Barry's music on CD in an effort to publicise a book on the musical career of the composer, which he had compiled with two other staunch Barry fans - Bramley and Walker. He was interested in Barry's early career, but had already established that EMI had no plans to re-issue anything. However, they were prepared to discuss licensing out material and this led to Play It Again's first release Beat Girl/Stringbeat.

Artie Wayne, professional manager of April Blackwood, placed "Before and After" with Chad & Jeremy, who recorded the song in March 1965 in the sessions for their album also entitled Before and After; Lor Crane produced these sessions at Columbia's New York City studios.
