Chad Kammerer (born September 28, 1967) is director of scouting and a former assistant basketball coach of the National Basketball Association's Miami Heat. [1] Kammerer joined the Heat in 2001 as an advance scout, became an assistant coach under Erik Spoelstra in 2008, and was part of the Miami Heat's 2012 NBA Finals Championship. Before joining the Heat, Kammerer worked as an assistant coach for Valparaiso University, the University of California at Los Angeles, Concordia University, and the University of Mississippi.

Early life

Kammerer spent the early years of his childhood in Warsaw, Indiana before moving to California. His father, Chet, was the head basketball coach at Grace College while the family lived in Warsaw. [3] In 1975, the family moved to California, where Chet would become the head basketball coach at Westmont College. Years later, Chad Kammerer would become an all-conference college basketball player while attending Westmont College from 1986 to 1990. [4] In 1993, Kammerer earned his master's degree from the University of Mississippi. [1] The Westmont College basketball court was named Kammerer Court in 2008.

Career

Kammerer joined the Miami Heat as a scout in August 2002 after just two months as an assistant coach for Valparaiso University. [5] He also served as an assistant coach for UCLA, Concordia University Irvine, and Ole Miss. [1]

Rex Andrew Walters Sr. is an American professional basketball coach and former player who last served as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Erik Jon Spoelstra, nicknamed "Coach Spo", is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and an assistant coach for the United States men's national basketball team. Spoelstra is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in the league and one of the greatest of all time. He has won two NBA championships as the head coach of the Heat. A Filipino American, Spoelstra is the first Asian American head coach in the history of the four major North American sports leagues and the first Asian American head coach to win an NBA title.

Tony Fiorentino is an American television color commentator, most recently for the Miami Heat. Fiorentino has been involved with the Heat organization since it entered the NBA, joining the team in 1988 as an assistant coach under Ron Rothstein. He also served as an assistant coach for the Heat under Alvin Gentry and Pat Riley, and later served as an assistant coach with the Heat's WNBA sister team, the Miami Sol. He became the Heat's main television color commentator in 2004, replacing Mike Fratello. On June 9, 2017, The Miami Heat announced that Fiorentino would call his 15th and final season as the team's television analyst. On April 11, 2018, Fiorentino was honored in a halftime ceremony during the final regular season game against the Toronto Raptors. Fiorentino remains with the team, serving as both a Miami Heat Ambassador and as the Director for the franchise's very popular summer basketball camp program.

Mike Kelly is an American-Australian professional basketball coach and former player. He played college basketball for Orange Coast College and Westmont College before playing professionally in Australia. He played 13 seasons in the National Basketball League (NBL) between 1993 and 2006, winning an NBL championship with the South East Melbourne Magic in 1996 while earning grand final MVP honours. In 1997 and 1998, he earned back-to-back NBL Best Defensive Player selection. He moved into coaching after retiring as a player, where he served as a college assistant for seven years before returning to the NBL in 2013. In 2018, he won an NBL championship as an assistant with Melbourne United. Two years later, he won NBL Coach of the Year as head coach of the Cairns Taipans. He was appointed head coach of the South East Melbourne Phoenix in 2023 but left in October 2024 after starting the 2024–25 NBL season with a 0–5 record.
