Egypt competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012, sending one of its largest delegations ever. A total of 110 Egyptian athletes participated in 83 events across 20 sports, with more women taking part than ever before. The nation's flagbearer in the opening ceremonies was Hesham Mesbah, a judoka who was Egypt's only medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Egypt won two medals during the course of the Games: Alaaeldin Abouelkassem earned silver in the men's foil, becoming the first competitor from an African nation to win a fencing medal, while Karam Gaber captured silver in the men's 84 kg Greco-Roman wrestling event. Two Egyptian weightlifters were awarded medals retroactively, after higher-ranked competitors were disqualified for doping: Abeer Abdelrahman took silver in the women's 75 kg event, while Tarek Yehia, received bronze in the men's 85 kg event. Among other achievements, Mostafa Mansour was the nation's first competitor in sprint canoeing while fencer Shaimaa El-Gammal became the first Egyptian female to appear in four editions of the Olympics.
India competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. India made its official debut at the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris and has appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympics since 1920. The Games marked the nation's 25th appearance at the Summer Olympics.
Kenya competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. In total, 290 athletes were scheduled to represent Kenya at 12th edition of the African Games. This later dropped to 259 athletes. Athletes representing Kenya won 11 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 10 bronze medals and the country finished 7th in the medal table.
Algeria competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. On 17 August, judo events began two days before the opening ceremony on the first day, Algeria achieved 9 medals, including two gold medals by Wail Ezzine in weight 66 kg and Faïza Aissahine in weight 52 kg. On the second and last day were content with only two medals silver and bronze.

Bachir Sid Azara is an Algerian Greco-Roman wrestler. At the African Wrestling Championships he won a total of eight medals: five gold medals and three silver medals. He is also a gold medalist at the 2019 African Games, the 2022 Mediterranean Games and the 2023 African Games.
Giullia Rodrigues Penalber de Oliveira is a Brazilian freestyle wrestler. She is the gold medalist in the women's 57 kg event at the 2023 Pan American Games and the 2018 South American Games. She is also a two-time gold medalist in this event at the Pan American Wrestling Championships, and reached the quarterfinals three times in the World Wrestling Championships, in the 2014, 2019 and 2021 editions.
Shiho Tanaka is a Japanese judoka and Wrestler. Her older brother, Genta Tanaka, placed second in the over 100 kg division at the 2015 World Judo Juniors Championships.
Fraj Dhouibi is a Tunisian judoka. He is a three-time medalist at the African Games. He also won ten medals at the African Judo Championships, including four gold medals.
Mohamed Ibrahim El-Sayed is an Egyptian Greco-Roman wrestler. He won one of the bronze medals in the 67 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. In 2019, he represented Egypt at the African Games held in Rabat, Morocco and won the gold medal in the men's Greco-Roman 67 kg event. He is a two-time U23 World Champion.
Aden-Alexandre Houssein is a Djiboutian judoka. He is a bronze medalist at the African Games and a two-time bronze medalist at the African Judo Championships.
