Narayanaswamy is an Indian politician currently serving as the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) in the Karnataka Legislative Council, the upper house in the bicameral Karnataka Legislature. This role also designates him as the presiding officer of the Legislative Council. As a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Chalavadi Narayanaswamy has seen a remarkable rise in his political career, which spans over four decades.
