Champagne Bricout is a champagne company founded in 1966 by Christian Andreas Kupferberg in Avize, France. [1] It was a subsidiary of Kupferberg Sekt, producing 3 million bottles of champagne in 1998. [2] [3]

History

Martin Financial acquired the company in 1998, but due to financial difficulties, sold it to the financial holding US-Luxembourg Opson Schneider in 2003. Opson Schneider filed for bankruptcy, which caused a scandal unprecedented in Champagne, [4] [5] [6] [7] Following the liquidation of the assets of Pierre Martin, LVMH, and Vranken-Pommery Monopole, 400 hectares of vineyards are now shared, including 200 hectares from Bricout, Avize. The oldest of the LVMH brands is wine producer Château d'Yquem, which dates its origins back to 1593.

Moët & Chandon, also known simply as Moët, is a French fine winery and co-owner of the luxury goods company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE. Moët et Chandon is one of the world's largest champagne producers and a prominent champagne house. Moët et Chandon was established in 1743 by Claude Moët, and today owns 1,190 hectares of vineyards, and annually produces approximately 28,000,000 bottles of champagne.

Krug Champagne is a Champagne house founded by Joseph Krug in 1843. Philippe Pozzo di Borgo is a Corsican French businessman who is the Director of Pommery and was the owner of an inherited historic hôtel particulier in Paris used as a function hall.

Henry Racamier (1912-2003) was a French business executive who turned Louis Vuitton from a small luxury goods brand into an internationally recognized brand with billions of dollars in international sales. In 1943 he wed Odile Vuitton, a great-granddaughter of the founder and a major shareholder of Louis Vuitton. He was the co-founder of LMVH the company which arose of the luggage company's merger with the champagne house Moet & Chandon. This new concern was originally founded to provide both previously independent companies protection from a potential outside hostile takeover. He then went on to be director of the new firm.
