Chandini Chowdary is an Indian actress who works in Telugu films. Her notable works include Colour Photo (2020), Sammathame (2022) and Gaami (2024).

Early life

Chandini Chowdary was born in a Telugu speaking family in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. [1] She graduated in mechanical engineering from Global Academy of Technology, Bangalore. [2]

Career

Before making her film debut, Chowdary acted in many short films while studying in Bangalore.[ citation needed ] One of her short films with actor Raj Tarun, The Blind Date brought her recognition. [2]

Mullapudi Vara and K.Raghavendra Rao, who saw Chandni's performance in the short film Madhuram in 2013, gave her an opportunity in the film Kundanapu Bomma . The movie's production started in January 2015 [3] but her first introduction as a lead to the Telugu film screen in 2015 was with the movie Ketugadu. She played small roles in Life is Beautiful before starring in Kundanapu Bomma (2016), Shamanthakamani (2017) and Howrah Bridge (2018). [4] [5]

Her performance in the web series Masti's was critically acclaimed. She garnered acclaim for her role in Manu (2018). [6] In 2020, she starred in Colour Photo opposite Suhas [7] in which she received praise for her acting skills. [8] [2] Her final release in 2022 was Sammathame . [4]

In 2023, she made her Tamil film debut with Saba Nayagan . [9] She worked on Gaami (2024). [10]

Produced by Amrutha Productions and Loukya Entertainment, the film stars Suhas in his first lead role, along with Chandini Chowdary, and Sunil. The music was composed by Kaala Bhairava, marking his second film as composer after Mathu Vadalara. The film is set in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh in the mid-1990s and is said to be the story of a "below-average guy".

The film features Vishwak Sen, Chandini Chowdary, Abhinaya, Harika Pedada and Mohammad Samad in primary roles. Initially started with a crowd-funding campaign, it was produced by Karthik Sabareesh, under Karthik Kult. It was released on 8 March 2024 to positive reviews from critics and audiences, with most critics praising the cast's performances, unique concept, and technical values.
