The Chanter Sisters are sisters Irene and Doreen Chanter who perform both as a duo, and as backing for other singers. They released three albums and a number of singles from the mid to late 1970s.
Irene and Doreen began recording as The Chanters – a family group which also included several of their brothers.
The sisters then went their own way, recording first under the name Birds of a Feather, and later as The Chanter Sisters, enjoying their only UK Singles Chart hit when "Sideshow" [note 1] entered the chart in July 1976 reaching number 43. [1]
The sisters have been far more successful in their backup singing career. Their credits include work with Elton John, Long John Baldry, Phil Manzanera, Roxy Music, John Miles, The Secret Policeman's Ball, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, Meat Loaf, Joe Cocker and many other famous names. The pair also had uncredited bit parts as schoolgirls in the 1971 horror film, Twins of Evil .
Although the sisters have predominantly worked together, Doreen has had the more extensive musical career, touring without her sister with several of the above named bands. However, the pair continue to work together in the recording studio, providing backup vocals for Chris Farlowe as recently as 2003.[ citation needed ]
Doreen also found success as a songwriter, being responsible for "Star", a UK hit in 1982 for Kiki Dee.
One of the songs they covered was "If Only I Could Start Again". This song released as a single in 1977 had previously been covered by The Drifters [2] and was from their 1975 album There Goes My First Love. It was written by Geoff Stephens and Roger Greenaway. [3]

Forever Everlasting is the debut solo studio album by American recording artist Everlast. It was released on March 27, 1990 via Warner Bros. Records. The eleven track full-length album features a remix song of his 1988 single "Syndication", and singles "Never Missin' a Beat", "The Rhythm" and "I Got the Knack". Cilla All Mixed Up is Cilla Black's sixteenth and final solo album, released worldwide on 7 September 2009 by EMI to digital download. The album was conceived to celebrate Black's 45th year in the music business. An array of original hit singles and album tracks held at Abbey Road studios were given a club makeover alongside a few more recent songs taken from Black's last studio album Beginnings (2003). The project features contributions from production team Almighty as well as other club DJs from the UK, Middle East and Asia. Safari Records was a British independent record label based in London, England, and operating between 1977 and 1985. Safari Records was formed early in 1977 by Tony Edwards, Andreas Budde and John Craig who previously ran Purple and Oyster Records. Chantal Curtis was a Tunisian-born French singer who had a disco hit in 1979 with "Get Another Love". She had some earlier recordings released under a different name. She died in Israel in 1985 having been hit by a bullet that was intended for her boyfriend. During her short career she had worked with Pierre Jaubert and Vladimir Cosma.
