Francisco Javier Puelles Gana (born December 4, 1984) is a Chilean actor, circus worker and television personality best known as "Chapu" because of his role in Calle 7 and Circo de estrellas being the Winner of both game shows. Also Puelles has his own circus named Universal Circus: El circo de Chapu, inaugurated in Talca, Chile. [1]

Television

Chapu was an actor in Pasiones in 2008. In 2009 he worked in Calle 7 being the winner of the first season, and winner of the second season, he won 5 millions of pesos chilenos for each season. He was a competitor in Season 3 and 4. Puelles is one of the most popular competitors of the show. [2] He was the winner of Circo de estrellas in 2010. [3]

He acted in the series Amores de Calle as Antonio in the pilot episode, later as Diego with his girlfriend Catalina Vallejos. [4]

Puelles has two songs, "Afortunado" (2009) and "Mejor soltero" (2010). [5]

Also Puelles has his own circus named Universal Circus: El circo de Chapu, inaugurated in Talca, Chile. In Calle 7 he did his own docu-reality. In 2010 Puelles was the winner of the Corrida Brooks in Santiago [6]

In 2010 Puelles worked for Buenos Días a Todos (show host by Felipe Camiroaga and Katherine Salosny). For this job, he traveled to Las Vegas in USA with Maite Orsini.

Calle 7 was a Chilean television program, shown by TVN from Monday to Friday at 6 pm. It was last co-hosted by Alain Soulat and Lucia Covarrubias, and involved two teams of young adult contenders participating in unique challenges and performing arts to win a top prize at the end of the competition.

The first season of Calle 7 was premiered on March 2, 2009, and the competition started on March 8, 2009. On Mondays and Wednesdays the two teams compete with each other during three contests with a point system of 100, 200 and 300 points deciding the winner, while on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the losing team from the previous day has to nominate one candidate for the final day of elimination on that week's Friday. Also Jean Philippe Cretton became part of the program as the host of Calle 7 onLine.

The second season of Calle 7 began on Monday, August 3, 2009. The new competitors were presented, and called "Challenging Team", they will team up to compete against the well known "Team Calle 7" that includes the first season winner Francisco "Chapu" Puelles. The competition system is the same as the one utilized in the first season; On Mondays and Wednesdays, the two teams compete in three events, each worth 100, 200 and 300 points. The winner of those days is saved from competing in elimination, while the loser has to compete among themselves on Tuesdays and Thursdays to elect a nominated team member. The elimination competition is on Fridays, and the loser leaves Calle 7 for ever. This season is formally presented Jean Philippe Cretton as the co-host of Calle 7.

Circo de estrellas, is the Chilean adaptation of an Australian TV program Celebrity Circus broadcast by the Australian Nine Network. It is based on learning and performing circus skills. The Chilean version of the program was announced in a January 2010 press release, to be shown by Televisión Nacional de Chile on Thursdays at 22:40 hours, hosted by Rafael Araneda and Karen Doggenweiler. There is also a related special program called as'Circo behind the magic, which shows the trial participants in a kind of series-documentary.
