The 14th Lok Sabha was convened after the 2004 Indian general election held in four phases during 20 April –10 May 2004,which led to the formation of first Manmohan Singh ministry (2004–2009). Indian National Congress-led United Progressive Alliance won 62 more seats than previous 13th Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha is the lower house in the Parliament of India. 8 sitting members from Rajya Sabha,the Upper House of Indian Parliament,were elected to 14th Lok Sabha after the 2004 Indian general election.
Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) is a Sikh Nationalist political party led by Simranjit Singh Mann,it is a splinter group of the Shiromani Akali Dal. The last major victory for Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) was in 1989 Lok Sabha elections where the party and their allies won 10 out of 13 seats from Punjab.

He is often referred to as Majhe Da Jarnail. He has previously served as Cabinet Minister in Government of Punjab twice,and MLA four times in Punjab. He was a part of the Shiromani Akali Dal led by Sukhbir Singh Badal until 2019 when he was expelled from the party. On 23 December 2021,he rejoined Shiromani Akali Dal.

Sukhbir Singh Badal is an Indian politician and the president of Shiromani Akali Dal,and is a member of Parliament from the Firozpur. He served as Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab from 2009 to 2017. He is the son of Parkash Singh Badal,who has served several times as Chief Minister of Punjab. Badal and his family have ownership stakes in an array of businesses.
