Charles Welchman Ling [1] was the inaugural Bishop of Banks and Torres. [2]

Ling was educated at St Peter's College, Siota. After his ordination in 1969, Ling worked in the Solomon Islands, the New Hebrides and Vanuatu. [3]

Ling died on his home island of Mota Lava in 2018. [4]

Cecil Wilson (bishop of Bunbury) English cricketer and Anglican bishop

Cecil Wilson was an English county cricketer and Anglican bishop. He was born in Canonbury; died in Perth, Western Australia. He was the third missionary Anglican Bishop of Melanesia from 1894 to 1911, and subsequently, the second Bishop of Bunbury from 1918 to 1937.

From 1861 until the inauguration of Church of the Province of Melanesia in 1975, the Bishop of Melanesia was the head of the Diocese of Melanesia.

John Wallace Chisholm, was an Australian divine who served as the tenth Anglican Bishop of Melanesia and first Archbishop of the Province of Melanesia. He was educated at Trinity College, University of Melbourne and ordained in 1947. His first post was as a Curate at St Stephen's, Rochester Row, Westminster after which he was Sub-Dean of the Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul, Dogura, Papua and New Guinea. From his consecration as a bishop on 24 February 1964 until 1967 he was an Auxiliary Bishop of New Guinea when he became Bishop of Melanesia, a post he held until 26 January 1975 when the Diocese of Melanesia became a province and he automatically became Archbishop of Melanesia and Bishop of Central Melanesia. He died on 24 May, shortly after signing the last paperwork of the Province's creation process.

Amos Stanley Waiaru OBE was a Solomon Islands divine from Nafinuatog who served as the third Archbishop of the Province of Melanesia.

Sir David Okete Vuvuiri Vunagi, is a retired Solomon Islands Anglican bishop and incumbent Governor-General of Solomon Islands. He was the Archbishop of Melanesia and Bishop of the Diocese of Central Melanesia, from 2009 to 2015.

James Marvin Ligo was the Anglican Bishop of Vanuatu and New Caledonia, one of the eight dioceses that make up the Anglican Church of Melanesia. He was consecrated and installed as Bishop of Vanuatu on 15 October 2006; the name of his diocese was changed during his time, so he became Bishop of Vanuatu and New Caledonia; he was succeeded as bishop by James Tana.
