Charles Rodriguez (born April 6, 1990) is an American retired soccer player who is an assistant coach for the Stanford Cardinal. He played for Nashville Metros and Wilmington Hammerheads during his senior career.

The Stanford Cardinal men's soccer team represents Stanford University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The Cardinal play in the Pac-12 Conference. Their first season was in 1973.

Nashville Metros soccer team

The Nashville Metros were an American soccer team based in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Founded in 1989, the team most recently played in the Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the South Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Metros were the longest continuously operating soccer club in the United Soccer Leagues before their last season in 2012.

Rodriguez was born in Franklin, Tennessee and attended Father Ryan High School in Nashville. He played four collegiate seasons at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning a nod as the 2010 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year [1] and as a 2011 NSCAA First Team All-American. [2]

Father Ryan High School is a private, Roman Catholic coeducational high school in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 1925 as Nashville Catholic High School for Boys, Father Ryan is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nashville. It was the first racially integrated high school in Tennessee.

Charlotte 49ers mens soccer

The Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The team is a member of the Conference USA of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The team plays their home games at Transamerica Field in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 2011, the team reached the championship of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, for the first time in their program's history.

D.C. United selected Rodriguez with the 45th pick in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft [3] and invited him to the club's preseason camp as a trialist. [4] He did not make the D.C. roster, and instead signed for USL Pro club Wilmington Hammerheads on July 10. [5] He made seven appearances for the Hammerheads during his lone season as a professional. [6]

D.C. United American soccer team

D.C. United is an American professional soccer club based in Washington, D.C. The club competes as a member of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top level of professional American soccer. The franchise began play in 1996 as one of the ten charter clubs of the league. The club was one of the most successful clubs in the early years of MLS, winning eight of its thirteen titles between 1996 and 1998 under then head coach Bruce Arena. United holds the joint MLS record for most Supporters' Shields, has four MLS Cups, and been crowned U.S. Open Cup champions three times. It is also the first club to win both the MLS Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup consecutively.

The 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft was a secondary draft that was held by Major League Soccer via conference call on January 17, 2012. The draft was four rounds and all 19 MLS clubs participated.

Wilmington Hammerheads FC association football club

Wilmington Hammerheads FC was a semi-professional American soccer team based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1996, the team last competed in the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2017.

After retiring, Rodriguez was hired as the director of soccer operations at Xavier. [7] He spent three seasons with the Musketeers before taking a job as an assistant coach at Stanford. The Cardinal won national titles in each of Rodriguez's first two seasons on staff. [8]
