Charles Christopher Way (born December 27,1972) is an American former professional football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons for the New York Giants. He has been the Second Gentleman of New Jersey since September 8,2023,as the husband of Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way.
Way was born in 1972 to Jacqueline and Cleveland Way. [1] he graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia,after which he attended the University of Virginia. Way was drafted by the Giants in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft,and played in five games his rookie year. Primarily used as a fullback,blocking for Rodney Hampton,Way finished the year with 71 total yards (65 of which were receiving yards) and one touchdown,scoring in week six.
Way started 13 games his second year,again primarily used as a blocker. He scored two touchdowns and finished the year with 79 rushing yards and 328 receiving yards.
Way was drafted in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft. [2] Way's breakout year was in 1997. Given the starting halfback job after Hampton went down with an injury,Way made the most of his opportunity,rushing for 696 yards and gaining 1,001 all purpose yards,and scored five touchdowns (four rushing). He also rushed for 114 yards against Arizona in week twelve,the only time in his career that he broke the century mark. Way's contributions helped lead the Giants to the division championship and a home playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings,but the Giants blew a 19–3 lead and lost the game 23–22.
Way's numbers fell off slightly in 1998,but he still managed to score four touchdowns and rush for 432 yards. His career was halted by a chronic knee injury,and he announced his retirement in 2000.
After his playing career,Way spent 14 years with the Giants as their Director of Player Development. In 2014,he became head of the NFL's Player Engagement Department. [3]
Way lives in Wayne,New Jersey,with his wife Tahesha,the current Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State of New Jersey, [4] and a former member of the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders. They have four children.
Terrell Lamar Davis is an American former professional football player who was a running back for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL) from 1995 to 2001. He is the Broncos all-time leading rusher and still holds the record for most postseason single-season touchdowns (eight),which he achieved in 1997. He is also credited with starting the "Mile High Salute",a celebratory tradition among Denver Broncos players after scoring a touchdown. Davis was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Despite his short seven year tenure,Davis is often regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time.
Roger Timothy Craig is an American former football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the San Francisco 49ers,Los Angeles Raiders and Minnesota Vikings. Craig went to four Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls with the 49ers. Craig was the first NFL player to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. Marshall Faulk and Christian McCaffrey are the only other players to have accomplished that feat. He currently works as the VP of Business Development at TIBCO Software.
Brian Collins Westbrook is an American former professional football player who was a running back for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft after playing college football for Villanova University. Following an eight-year career with the Eagles,in which he earned two Pro Bowl selections in 2004 and 2007,Westbrook signed with the San Francisco 49ers,for whom he played in 2010. Michael Joseph Alstott,is an American former professional football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nicknamed "A-Train",he played college football at Purdue and was selected by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft. Alstott received six Pro Bowl and three first-team All-Pro honors during his career,in addition to being part of the Buccaneers team that won the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXVII. For his accomplishments in Tampa Bay,he was inducted to the Buccaneers Ring of Honor in 2015. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest fullbacks of all time.
Thomas Dean Rathman is an American former professional football player who was a fullback for the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). Following his playing career,he became a coach in 1995 and coached the 49ers' running backs through the 2016 season and now will be inducted into the 49ers' hall of fame. Rathman was a three-sport star at Grand Island Senior High in central Nebraska. In addition to a state Hall of Fame career as a fullback for the Islanders football team,Rathman won a state championship in the high jump in 1980 during his junior year.
Larry Eugene Centers is an American former professional football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons,mostly for his first team,the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals (1990–1998). Centers then played for the Washington Redskins (1999–2000),Buffalo Bills (2001–2002),and finally was a member of the New England Patriots for their second Super Bowl win,in 2003.
Joseph Edward Morris is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants from 1982 to 1988. Initially noted for his diminutive stature —5' 7",Morris was a key member of the Giants team that won Super Bowl XXI in 1987. He rushed for 67 yards,caught four passes for 20 yards,and scored a touchdown in the game.

Cory Michael Schlesinger is a former American football fullback of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He played college football at Nebraska.

Hoard is an American former football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons for the Cleveland Browns from 1990 to 1995 and the Minnesota Vikings from 1996 to 1999. He also played briefly for the Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens during the 1996 NFL season. In a 10-year NFL career,Hoard appeared in 144 games,totaled 3,964 rushing yards and 2,430 receiving yards and scored 51 touchdowns.
Jarrod Ray Bunch is a former American football player and actor,as well as the head coach of the Beverly Hills High School football team. He played college football for the University of Michigan from 1986 to 1990. He was the number 1 pick for the New York Giants in the 1991 NFL Draft. Jarrod was named New York Giants Offensive Player of the year in 1992. In the 1993 training camp Jarrod sustained a knee injury that tore ligaments in his knee that sidelined him for seven weeks,upon his return his ability to play was greatly affected. After multiple surgeries in the offseason,he tried to recover his high level of play,however his contract with the Giants was terminated after he failed a physical examination before the start of 1994 season. He signed with Los Angeles Raiders two weeks later. Jarrod retired from football in 1995,and has kept himself very busy in entertainment and other activities. To aid in overcoming his injuries,he began studying martial arts,and is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He owns Bunch Time Production,a boutique production house that produces,commercials,web content,documentaries. He along with his wife Robin Emtage live in Beverly Hills California.

Peyton Derek Hillis is a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL). Hillis attended Conway High School in Conway,Arkansas,and was a highly touted recruit. Hillis attended the University of Arkansas where he was primarily used as a fullback. After being drafted in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft,Hillis rose to the top of the depth chart as the starting fullback for the Denver Broncos. Due to injuries to the running back corps,he became the starting running back. After spending two years in Denver,Hillis was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2010. In 2011,Hillis won a nationwide vote which put him on the cover of EA Sports' Madden NFL 12 video game.
