Charlie Borders is a former Republican member of the Kentucky State Senate from January 1991 until his resignation in July 2009.
Borders,who attended Morehead State University,works in real estate in Greenup,Kentucky. [1]
In 2009,Borders resigned from his legislative post to become a member of Kentucky's Public Service Commission. [2] A special election was called to replace him,and Democratic candidate Robin L. Webb won. [3]

Kentucky Educational Television (KET) is a state network of PBS member television stations serving the U.S. Commonwealth of Kentucky. Thelma Loyace Stovall was a pioneering American politician in the state of Kentucky. In 1949,she won election as state representative for Louisville and served three consecutive terms. Over the next two decades,Stovall was elected Kentucky State Treasurer twice and Secretary of State of Kentucky three times. She capped her career as the 47th Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky (1975–1979) in the administration of her fellow Democrat,Governor Julian Carroll. She was the first woman to hold the office.
John Allan Yarmuth is a retired American politician and newspaper editor who served as the U.S. representative for Kentucky's 3rd congressional district from 2007 to 2023. His district encompassed the vast majority of the Louisville Metro Area. From 2013 onward,he had been the sole Democratic member of Kentucky's congressional delegation. Yarmuth chaired the House Budget Committee from 2019 to 2023. On October 12,2021,he announced that he would not seek reelection in 2022.
The Confederate Monument in Louisville is a 70-foot-tall monument formerly adjacent to and surrounded by the University of Louisville Belknap Campus in Louisville,Kentucky,United States. Relocation of the monument to Brandenburg,Kentucky,along the town's riverfront began November 2016,and was completed in mid-December. The granite and bronze structure was erected in 1895 by the Muldoon Monument Company with funds raised by the Kentucky Woman's Confederate Monument Association. The monument commemorates the sacrifice of Confederate veterans who died in the American Civil War.
