Charlie Lees (1887-1976) was a rugby league player in the Australian competition - the NSWRFL.

Playing career

Lees played for the Eastern Suburbs club in the years (1911 to 1921). A forward, Lees was a member of Eastern Suburbs' first premiership winning sides in 1911 (in which he scored his side's only try), 1912 and 1913, and won City Cups with the club in 1914, 1915 and 1916.

A solid defensive player, Lees was one of the earliest members to play 100 matches for the Eastern Suburbs club, playing 152 in total. Lees was Eastern Suburbs' sole try scorer in the match that brought the club its first premiership. [2]

Lees was chosen to play for NSW in 1913. He was awarded Life Membership of the New South Wales Rugby League in 1931.

A New South Wales representative three-quarter back, he played in the NSWRFL Premiership for Sydney's the Western Suburbs and Canterbury-Bankstown clubs, with both of whom he won premiership titles.

Arthur 'Pony' Halloway (1885–1961), was a pioneering Australian rugby league footballer and coach. Born in Sydney, New South Wales he played for the Glebe Dirty Reds (1908), Balmain Tigers and Eastern Suburbs (1912–1914), in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership. He played for New South Wales in the first rugby match run by the newly created 'New South Wales Rugby Football League' which had just split away from the established New South Wales Rugby Football Union.

A fast and agile wing, with an ability to effortlessly change direction, Frawley was at club and representative levels generally positioned on the outside of rugby league Immortal Dally Messenger, creating a formidable combination. He was a noted speedster who, on the 1908–09 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain, was acclaimed as the "100 yards champion" of the squad.

He played for New South Wales in the very first rugby match run by the newly created 'New South Wales Rugby Football League' which had just split away from the established New South Wales Rugby Football Union.
