The Folketing,also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English,is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849,until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament,called the Rigsdag;the upper house was the Landsting. It meets in Christiansborg Palace,on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen.

Aase Olesen was a Danish politician for the Danish Social Liberal Party and teacher. She worked as a teacher at Hørsholm Municipal School before joining the Danish Social Liberal Party in 1967. Olesen was elected to the Folketing from October 1974 to December 1990 and was appointed Minister of Social Affairs in the government of Poul Schlüter between June 1988 and December 1990. Agnete Laustsen was a Danish Conservative People's Party politician. She served as a member of the Folketing representing the Søndre Storkreds constituency from October 1979 to March 1998. Laustsen was appointed the first Danish Minister of Health by Prime Minister Poul Schlüter,a post she held between September 1987 and June 1988,and was subsequently appointed as the first woman to hold the position of Minister of Housing between June 1988 and December 1990. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the Dannebrog in 1989.
Inger Margrethe Philip was a Danish politician for the Danish Social Liberal Party who was elected to serve as a member of parliament in the Copenhagen County district in the Folketing from 1960 to 1979. Before entering politics,she worked as a clerk in the secretariat of the Labor Market Commission and then in the Ministry of Labor. Philip got involved in the political affairs of the social scene and women. She was on various committees such as the Finance Committee and the National Pension Commission.
Marlene Harpsøe is a Danish politician who served as a Member of the Folketing from 2007 to 2011 and then from 2015 to 2019 representing the Danish People's Party. She was again elected in 2022 as a member of the Denmark Democrats for the North Zealand constituency.
Charlotte Baunbæk Dyremose is a Danish Conservative politician and a Church of Denmark pastor. She was a member of the Folketing from 2001 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2015. Among her parliamentary responsibilities,she was spokeswoman for ecclesiastical affairs. Dyremose was ordained in Helsingør Cathedral in June 2019 and as of December 2023 serves as a pastor in Hellerup Church.
