Early life

Voisey is from London. [1] [2]

Career

Voisey worked in restaurant management and as a bartender in London, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and New York and opened Apartment 195 in London in 2002. [3] [4] [5] She has worked as a cocktail consultant for multiple restaurants. [6] [4] [7]

In the mid-2010s Voisey became a portfolio ambassador for William Grant & Sons, a Scottish distiller of spirits. She eventually became director of brand advocacy and as of 2024 was global head of ambassadors for the firm. [8] [1] [9] [10]

Recognition

Voisey was named UK bartender of the year in 2004. [3] [1] In 2011 she was named Wine Enthusiast 's inaugural Mixologist of the Year. [11] [12]

The Hot Charlotte, a gin, St-Germain, and lemon juice cocktail flavored with cucumber and garnished with Tabasco and cucumber, was named after her by its creator, Seattle mixologist Murray Stenson. [13]

Personal life

As of 2022 Voisey lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. [14]

Dale DeGroff, also known as "the King of Cocktails" or "King Cocktail", is an American bartender and author. The New York Times in 2015 called DeGroff "one of the world's foremost cocktail experts", and wrote that his book The Craft of the Cocktail is considered an essential bartending reference. Julie Reiner is an American mixologist, club owner, and author. Reiner is one of New York's most influential bar owners, having established the Flatiron Lounge, Lani Kai, and the Clover Club. Major publications have featured Reiner's drink recipes, including The Wall Street Journal, Playboy, Esquire, GQ, and Time Out London. Reiner has trained many female bartenders.

Natasha David is a German-born American bartender, mixologist, and author. In 2014, David opened the critically acclaimed cocktail bar Nitecap on New York's Lower East Side. David has also competed on Iron Chef America. In 2022, David authored the cocktail recipe book Drink Lightly. Murray Russell Stenson was an American bartender in Seattle, Washington. Stenson was an instrumental figure in the cocktail renaissance of the early 21st century, most notably behind the bar at the Zig Zag Café where he reintroduced the pre-Prohibition cocktail The Last Word. In 2010, Stenson was named "Best Bartender in America" by Tales of the Cocktail.

Top-shelf liquor is a term used in marketing to describe higher-priced alcoholic beverages, typically stored on the top shelves within bars. This contrasts to a "rail" or well drink, which are lower cost beverages typically stored on the lower shelves of the bartender's rack.
