The Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship was a unit of administrative division and local government in Poland in years 1975-1998, superseded in parts by Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship and Lublin Voivodeship. Its capital city was Tarnobrzeg, although the major city in the region was Stalowa Wola.
Stalowa Wola is the largest city and capital of Stalowa Wola County with a population of 58,545 inhabitants, as at 31 December 2021. It is located in southeastern Poland in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. The city lies in historic Lesser Poland near the confluence of the Vistula and the San rivers, and covers an area of 82.5 km2 (31.9 sq mi).

The only towns in Tarnobrzeg County are Nowa Dęba, which lies 18 km (11 mi) south of Tarnobrzeg, and Baranów Sandomierski, 15 km (9 mi) south-west of Tarnobrzeg.

Its administrative seat and largest town is Sandomierz, which lies 83 kilometres (52 mi) east of the regional capital Kielce. The county also contains the towns of Koprzywnica, lying 16 km (10 mi) south-west of Sandomierz, and Zawichost, 16 km (10 mi) north-east of Sandomierz.
Stal Stalowa Wola Piłkarska Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Stal Stalowa Wola, is a Polish professional football club based in Stalowa Wola, Subcarpathian Voivodeship. Founded in 1938, they will compete in the 2024–25 I liga, the second tier of Polish football, following successive promotions from the 2022–23 III liga and 2023–24 II liga.
Nowa Dęba is a town in Tarnobrzeg County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, Poland, with a population of 11,310, as of 2 June 2009. Nowa Dęba belongs to historic Lesser Poland, and is located in the Sandomierz Forest, along European route E371. Near the town is the Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone (TSSE), as well as a large military training area of the Polish Army. Nowa Dęba has a sports club Stal, established in 1953.

Sandomierz Basin is a lowland, located in southeastern Poland, between the Lesser Poland Upland, Lublin Upland and the Western Carpathians. Its name comes from the historical city of Sandomierz, and the basin has a triangular shape with the size of around 15,000 km2 (5,800 sq mi). It is drained by the Vistula River, as well as its eastern tributary, the San. The city of Mielec located in a very densely populated western part of Podkarpacie and eastern Małopolska and Świętokrzyskie, has a former military and industrial airport managed by the company PZL Cargo, that during the renovation of the runway of Rzeszów airport in December 2004 was intended to be used as a replacement for the runway at Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport. It offers an APV-I instrument approach and an aviation fuel station. Experts estimate that it could handle even large aircraft. Its location offers a chance to serve the parts of Świętokrzyskie and Małoposlska regions, that are otherwise not covered by other airports.
Miejski Klub Sportowy Sokół Nisko, commonly referred to as Sokół Nisko, is a Polish football club based in Nisko, Podkarpackie Voivodeship. In the 2024–25 season, they compete in the IV liga Subcarpathia, after winning the Stalowa Wola group of the regional league the season prior. The club's name literally means falcon in Polish, and it comes from the Polish Gymnastic Society Sokół.
In the 2020–21 season, Stal Stalowa Wola competed in III liga, group IV and the regional Polish Cup. In addition, they competed in the season's edition of the central Polish Cup. The season covered the period from 9 August 2020 to 26 June 2021.
The Subcarpathian Football Center is a football training complex in Stalowa Wola, Poland, comprising a main pitch, two pitches with artificial turf, two full-size pitches, and one full-size pitch with natural grass. The main pitch serves as the home stadium for Stal Stalowa Wola. Opened in 2020, the stadium is equipped with lighting and a heated pitch, and has a seating capacity of 3,764, including 258 seats for visiting fans.
