Chasa is an Indian caste from the Odisha state. Chasa's were traditionally cultivators, but are now engaged in several professions. The Odia word chasa means farmer. [1]

Kuilta is a Kshatriya jāti of Odisha and one of the major dominant farming communities of western part of Odisha state of India. It is one of the major subdivisions of the farming community of Odisha and especially present in western part of Odisha. The Kuilta worship Raneswara Ramachandi devi as their principal deity. Lord Raneswara is worshipped as lord Shiva and goddess Ramachandi as Parbati. The principal deity of other farming communities of Odisha such as the Chasa caste also worship Devi Ramachandi as their principal deity. There is report of presence of Ramachandi temple in different parts of coastal Odisha such as the famous Ramachandi Temple present in Puri district of Odisha near the river mouth of Kushabhadra river. According to some historians Kuilta might have migrated from north Bihar in due course of time during different time periods and settled in Boud district of Odisha which is regarded as their origin in western Odisha. The main occupation is agriculture.

Economy of Odisha

The economy of Odisha is one of the fastest growing economy in India. According to 2014-15 economic survey, Odisha's gross state domestic product (GSDP) was expected to grow at 8.78%. Odisha has an agriculture-based economy which is in transition towards an industry and service-based economy. According to recent estimates, the size of Odisha's economy has increased by 122.27 per cent during the last six years in terms of the gross state domestic product (GSDP). Thereby, Odisha achieved an annual average growth rate of 6.23 per cent during that period. Odisha is also one of the top FDI destinations in India. In the fiscal year 2011–12, Odisha received investment proposals worth ₹49,527 crore. According to the Reserve Bank of India, It received ₹53,000 crore worth of new FDI commitments in the 2012-13 fiscal year.

The Khandayat is a cultivating caste of Odisha in India. Numerically they are the largest caste of Odisha.

Rairakhol State

Rairakhol State was a princely state during the British Raj in what is today India. It was one of the Chota Nagpur States and had its capital at Rairakhol (Redhakhol), located in the present-day Sambalpur district of Odisha. It had an area of 2,157 square kilometres (833 sq mi) and a population of 26,888 in 1901, the average revenue was Rs.55,000 in 1904.

Behera is an Odia surname. The word Behera means Chief or Leader. Historically it is designated to Gopal caste and they are mostly used this surname in Odisha. After them, it is also used by Chasa, Khandayat and western Odisha Brahmin peoples.
