Players Honored

Schandra "Sunshine" Loveless, Loco #43, played on the inaugural United States national women's football team in 2010. The US team won the gold medal at the IFAF Women's World Championship while not allowing any opponents to score against them.

Former players

On September 1, 2006, Kristin Reese, a player for the Chattanooga Locomotion was killed in a motorcycle accident. The loss of one of their own has greatly shook them, but they promised to play harder than they ever played before, in her memory. Before the first game of the 2007 Season, the Locomotion also lost Jeff Ellis, an important member of the team performing many managerial functions.

Darnell Robert Stapleton is an offensive line assistant coach for the Florida Gators football team. A former American football offensive lineman, Stapleton was the starting right guard on the Super Bowl XLIII champion Pittsburgh Steelers, they beat the Arizona Cardinals. He played college football at Rutgers.

The H-Town Texas Cyclones were a team of the Independent Women's Football League. Based in Houston, the Cyclones played their home games at Reggie Grob Stadium on the campus of the Spring Branch Independent School District. The Cyclones were the second IWFL team based in Houston, after the Houston Energy. However, while the Energy competes in Tier I, the Cyclones were expected to compete in Tier II. Both teams were to compete for talent and fans with the Women's Football Alliance's Houston Power.

Based in the Washington metropolitan area, the Divas play their home games at The St. James fieldhouse in Springfield, Virginia. Formerly, the Divas played at Eastern High School in Washington, D.C.; Largo High School in Largo, Maryland; the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, and at John R. Lewis High School in Springfield.

The Wisconsin Warriors were a football team in the Independent Women's Football League. Based in Greendale, the Warriors played their home games on the campus of Greendale High School. The Warriors were the defending IWFL North American Champions of 2009.

The Connecticut Crushers were a women's American football team based in Hartford, and were a member of the Independent Women's Football League since 2009. Home games were played at Dillon Stadium.

The New England Intensity was an American football team in the Independent Women's Football League based in Medway, Massachusetts. Home games were played at Joseph P. Hanlon Field on the campus of Medway High School in Medway.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nor Cal Red Hawks</span>

The Nor Cal Red Hawks are a women's football team based in Redding, California. They are members of the Independent Women's Football League. They played in 2010 as an exhibition team and began play of their first regular season in 2011 in Sacramento. However, injuries postponed their 2011 season. There is one other women's football team in Redding, who are in the same league as the Red Hawks: the Redding Rage. It was announced in 2012 that the team would relocate to Redding for 2013. The Red Hawks will now play in the IWFL's Pacific West division, along with the California Quake.

The Utah Jynx is a team of the Women's Football Alliance that began play in 2011 and joined the WFA in 2012. Following their successful 2011 season as an independent team, they were placed at #7 in the WFA preseason rankings by EZ Football Rankings. Based in West Valley City, Utah, the Jynx play their home games on the campus of Taylorsville High School.

The Huntsville Tigers is a women's American football team located in Huntsville, Alabama. The Tigers played their first season of full-contact football in the spring of 2012. This was the Tigers' first season as a new team. The team consists of former Alabama Renegades and Tennessee Valley Tigers players as well as a number of new players.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tennessee Train</span>

The Tennessee Train are a women's American football team of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL). They are located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and play their home games at Chattanooga Central High School. The team was founded in 2013 as a member of the Women's Football Alliance. The Train became members of the IWFL in 2015.
