Cheju Halla University is a private university in Jeju City,the principal city of South Korea's island province of Jeju Province. Originally established as a nursing school,it retains a strong emphasis on medicine,although academic programs in many other fields are now offered.
The school began its existence in 1966 as Jeju Nursing School (제주간호학교),a three-year technical institution. It became Jeju Technical College of Nursing in 1979,Halla Technical College in 1991,and took on its present name in 1998.

Jeju Province, officially Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, is the southernmost province of the Republic of Korea (ROK), consisting of 8 inhabited and 55 uninhabited islands, including Mara Island, U Island, the Chuja Archipelago, and the country's largest island Jeju Island. Yeungnam University is a private research university located in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang, South Korea. The university's predecessors, Taegu College and Chunggu College, were founded in Daegu in 1947 and 1950 respectively. In 1967, the two colleges were merged by President Park Chung Hee to form Yeungnam University. In 1972, the university's new main campus opened in Gyeongsan east of Daegu. The university includes colleges of Law and Medicine as well as a university hospital. Sungshin Women's University is a private women's university located in Seoul, South Korea. It was founded by Dr. Sook-Chong Lee in 1936. During the 1960s and 1970s, Sungshin was a teacher in one of the Colleges of South Korea. Then, in the 1980s, the college was promoted to the status of a comprehensive university. Today, the university comprises ten colleges and five graduate schools, with total enrollment of about 12,000 students. In 2006, the university rebuilt the Sungshin Hall to mark the university's 70th anniversary. Also, Sungshin Women's University has succeeded to annex the nursing college of a national hospital, the first event of its kind to happen in South Korea.

He was also reportedly the longest independently living foreigner in Korea and continued to maintain his U.S. citizenship.
Gotjawal Forest is a naturally formed forest located on the middle slopes of Halla Mountain, Jeju Island in South Korea. It covers the rocky area of ʻaʻā on Jeju Island off the southwestern coast of South Korea. Due to the geographical feature, the region remains largely undisturbed by people. The Gotjawal Forest is an enclave of the Southern Korea evergreen forests ecoregion, and is a favorite place of the Jeju locals.
