Polytechnic University of Catalonia, currently referred to as BarcelonaTech and commonly named just as UPC, is the largest engineering university in Catalonia, Spain. It also offers programs in other disciplines such as mathematics and architecture.
Catalan Countries refers to those territories where the Catalan language, or a variant of it, is spoken. They include the Spanish regions of Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands and parts of Aragon and Murcia, as well as Roussillon in France, the Principality of Andorra, and the city of Alghero in Sardinia (Italy). In the context of Catalan nationalism, the term is sometimes used in a more restricted way to refer to just Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands. The Catalan Countries do not correspond to any present or past political or administrative unit, though most of the area belonged to the Crown of Aragon in the Middle Ages. Parts of Valencia (Spanish) and Catalonia (Occitan) are not Catalan-speaking.

El Prat de Llobregat, commonly known as El Prat[əl ˈpɾat], is a municipality in the comarca of Baix Llobregat in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the delta of the Llobregat river on the right bank, bordering the coast of the Mediterranean Sea between Barcelona and Viladecans. More than a quarter of the area of the municipality is occupied by Barcelona–El Prat Airport. Apart from the transport links to the airport, the town of El Prat is served by a railway station on the coast line from Barcelona to Valencia. The municipality also has a beach and a small nature reserve at the Llac (Lake) de la Ricarda i del Remolar. El Prat is famous for its blue-legged chickens. El Prat forms part of the metropolitan area of Barcelona.

The Institut Ramon Llull (IRL) is a Catalan organization constituted in 2002 in order to "promote Catalan language and culture internationally". Created in 2002, it is a consortium based in Barcelona that -in 2018- comprises the Generalitat de Catalunya, Balearic Islands Government and the Barcelona City Council, and its mission is the promotion of Catalan language and culture abroad. Its Director since September 2018 is Iolanda Batallé.
Màrius Serra i Roig is a Spanish writer, journalist, translator and television maker.
Anna Aguilar-Amat is a Catalan poet, translator, researcher and university professor in Terminology and Computational Linguistics. She writes primarily in Catalan but also has some work in Spanish. She has a PHD from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona where she now teaches Terminology applied to Translation at the Translation Faculty. She published five collections of poems and was awarded several awards for Catalan poetry. Her poetic work is present in several anthologies of Catalan poets and she has been translated into Spanish, English, French, Italian, Sardinian, Macedonian, Finnish, Arabian, Turkish, Greek, German and Slovenian. She was included in the Anthology New European Poets by Wayne Miller & Kevin Prufer, Minnesota 2008.

David Castillo i Buïls is a Catalan poet, writer, and literary critic. He started out as a poet with counterculture and clandestine publications in the 1970s, although his first published work, a declaration of principles, was the biography of Bob Dylan in 1992. Three years earlier, he had been the anthologist of Ser del segle, which brought together leading voices of the generation of the 1980s. They were followed by a series of poems among them Game over, which won the premi Carles Riba. Then, he began a career as a writer with novels like El cel de l'infern and No miris enrere, that was well accepted both by critics and the general public. The first work has been awarded with the premi Crexells for the best Catalan novel of the year 1999. The second has been awarded the Premi Sant Jordi de novel·la of 2001. He has received three times the "Atlàntida awards for journalism" and he has also been awarded the Italian "Tratti Poetry Prize for the best foreign poet" for his anthology of poetry translated into Italian. He has been organizing various poetic cycles and he is founder and director of the Poetry Week in Barcelona since 1997.
Juan-Julio Bonet Sugrañes (1940–2006) was a Spanish chemist and founder of the first laboratory and research school of steroid chemistry in Spain.
Joan Triadu was a Spanish literary critic, academic and writer. A cultural and resistant anti-Franco activist, he participated in many significant Catalan cultural projects of the 20th century such as the Serra d'Or magazine, the magazine Ariel, Ariel, the newspaper Today or Òmnium Cultural. He was the pioneer in the post-war Catalan courses. In the role of pedagogue, he was the general director of the Cultural Institution of the CIC, an entity that created the Escola Thau Barcelona in 1963 and the Escola Thau Sant Cugat in 1996.
The Palau Baró de Quadras is a small modernista palace located in Barcelona on Avinguda Diagonal, equidistant from La Pedrera and Casa de les Punxes. It was built by the Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1904 and 1906. In 1976 it was designated as Nacional National Historical Monument of Artistic Interest. Currently houses the main offices of the Institut Ramon Llull.

Pilar Benejam i Arguimbau is a Spanish geographer and pedagogue. In 1961 she graduated in teaching from the School of the Balearic Islands. In 1966 she obtained a licentiate in pedagogy, and another in history from the University of Barcelona in 1972. Finally, in 1985, she received a doctorate in pedagogy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
