Chethan Jayalal is an Indian actor who appears in Malayalam films. [1] He is known for Guppy (2016), Iyobinte Pusthakam (2014) and Oppam (2016). He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2016 for portraying the character Guppy in the film Guppy . [2]

The Kerala State Film Award for Best Director is an honour presented annually at the Kerala State Film Awards of India since 1969. It is given to a film director who has exhibited outstanding direction while working in the Malayalam film industry. Until 1997, the awards were managed directly by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala. Since 1998, the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, an autonomous non-profit organisation functioning under the Department of Cultural Affairs, has been exercising control over the awards. The recipients are decided by an independent jury formed by the academy. They are declared by the Minister for Cultural Affairs and are presented by the Chief Minister.

The Kerala State Film Award – Special Jury Award is an award presented annually at the Kerala State Film Awards of India.

Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam is a 2016 Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Gitanjali Selvaraghavan and written by her husband Selvaraghavan. Featuring newcomers Balakrishna Kola and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film is produced by Kola Bhaskar and has music composed by Amrit. Having had several false starts since 2006, the film released on 1 January 2016 to positive reviews. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as Nannu Vadili Neevu Polevule.

Guppy is a 2016 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written and directed by Johnpaul George. It stars Chethan Jayalal and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles, along with Sreenivasan, Rohini, Sudheer Karamana, Dileesh Pothan, and Alencier Ley Lopez in supporting roles. The film was released on 5 August 2016 to positive reviews, but had a moderate performance in the box office.

Alencier Ley Lopez is an Indian film and theatre actor, who appears in Malayalam films. Lopez made his debut in the 1998 film Daya; and he worked in films like Annayum Rasoolum (2013), Njan Steve Lopez (2013), and Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016).

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, officially titled in English as Like An Afternoon Dream, is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-Tamil bilingual drama film directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by S. Hareesh from a story by Pellissery. It was produced by Mammootty Kampany, with Amen Movie Monastery as co-producer. The film stars Mammootty Ramya Suvi, Ramya Pandian and Ashokan and threads on insomnia, spiritualism, and fantasy.

The 38th Kerala Film Critics Association Awards, honouring the best Malayalam films released in 2014, were announced in April 2015. The awards were distributed at an event held in Trivandrum on 30 March 2016.
