The Chief Development Officer is an administrative post in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and Bihar tasked to oversee various developmental schemes of poverty alleviation and infrastructure creation of the state and central governments. The officer works under the overall supervision and control of the District Magistrate. [1] [2]

Uttarakhand, formerly known as Uttaranchal, is a state in the northern part of India. Harish Rawat is an Indian politician who was Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2014–2017. A five-time Member of Parliament, Rawat is a leader of the Indian National Congress party. As a member of 15th Lok Sabha, Rawat served as Union Minister of Water Resources in the cabinet of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from 2012 to 2014. He also worked as Minister of State at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (2011-2012) and Ministry of Labour and Employment (2009-2011).

DRDA has traditionally been the principal organ at the district level to oversee the implementation of anti-poverty programmes of the Ministry of Rural Development. This agency was created originally to implement the Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP). Subsequently the DRDAs were entrusted with number of programmes of both state and central governments. From April 1999a separate DRDA Administration has been introduced to take care of the administrative costs. This aims at strengthening the DRDAs and make them more professional in managing the anti-poverty programmes and be an effective link between the ministry and the district level.

Pritam Singh is an Indian politician who is the current President of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee. He is a four term Member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Urban Development Directorate (UDD) is the administrative department in the state of Uttarakhand. It is an autonomous state government agency responsible for urban planning and development control. There are 92 Urban Local Bodies in the state of Uttarakhand i.e. 8 Municipal Corporations, 41 Municipal Councils and 43 Town Panchayats.

Nilam Sawhney Indian civil servant

Nilam Sawhney is currently serving as the first woman Chief Secretary of the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh, India, since November 2019. She is a 1984 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. She previously held the position of Secretary of Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment from 2018 to 2019 and before this served as the Secretary of Central Vigilance Commission in the Government of India from 2015 to 2018.
