The China Zebrafish Resource Center (CZRC) is a non-profit organization located in 7 Donghu South Road, Wuhan, Focusing mainly on zebrafish resources. It was established in the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in October 2012, currently headed by the Board Chairman Meng Anming. [1] [2]

Introduction

CZRC is a non-profit organization jointly supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. [3] CZRC mainly focuses on collecting the existing zebrafish resources, developing new lines and technology, with the purpose to provide resource, technical and informatic support for Chinese and overseas colleagues. [4]

<i>Romance of the Three Kingdoms</i> (TV series) Chinese television series

Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a Chinese television series adapted from the classical 14th century novel of the same title by Luo Guanzhong. The series was produced by China Central Television (CCTV) and was first aired on the network in 1994. It spanned a total of 84 episodes, each approximately 45 minutes long. One of the most expensive television series produced at the time, the project was completed over four years and involved over 400,000 cast and crew members, including divisions of the People's Liberation Army from the Beijing, Nanjing and Chengdu military regions. Some of the dialogues spoken by characters were adapted directly from the novel. Extensive battle scenes, such as the battles of Guandu, Red Cliffs and Xiaoting, were also live-acted.

It was set in motion by the 16th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party. The 15th Central Committee preceded it. The plot is adapted from the 14th century historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and other stories about the Three Kingdoms period. Directed by Gao Xixi, the series had a budget of over 160 million RMB and took five years of pre-production work. Shooting of the series commenced in October 2008, and it was released in China in May 2010.

The Water Margin is a 1998 Chinese television series adapted from Shi Nai'an's classical 14th-century novel of the same title. It was produced by CCTV with Zhang Jizhong as producer. It was first broadcast in China in January 1998. The series also featured action choreography by Yuen Woo-ping.

All Men Are Brothers is a 2011 Chinese television series adapted from Shi Nai'an's 14th century novel Water Margin, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. The series is directed by Kuk Kwok-leung and features cast members from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The series was first broadcast on 8TV in March 2011 in Malaysia.

Pan Jianwei is a Chinese quantum physicist, university administrator and professor of physics at the University of Science and Technology of China. Meng Anming is a Chinese developmental biologist. In 1983 he graduated from Southwest Agricultural University, and in November 1990 he received his PhD from the Genetics Department of the University of Nottingham. From 1990 to 1998 he served as an associate professor of Beijing Agricultural University, and from 1998 a professor of Tsinghua University. In 2007 he was elected a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and in 2008 a member of TWAS. In 2001 he was awarded the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Prize for Scientific and Technologic Progress.

Xiangning "Forrest" Zhang 张向宁 is a Chinese information technology entrepreneur, angel investor, and venture capitalist. He is among the first group of Internet entrepreneurs in China, and also the founder, former Chairman and CEO of HiChina Corporation as well as the Chairman and CEO of Tixa Internet Technology Corporation. Zhang foresaw the potential of the Internet and provided domain name registration and web hosting services from the end of 1995, leading HiChina to earn the largest share of the Chinese market in this field. Later he started his second company, Tixa, and continued to innovate while holding positions in organizations like the All-China Youth Federation and the China Council for International Investment Promotion.

Microbacterium petrolearium is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped and aerobic bacterium from the genus Microbacterium which has been isolated from oil-contaminated water from the Dagang Oilfield in China.

Meng Wei is a former Chinese politician and environmentalist who served as president of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences from 2001 to 2016. As of November 2017 he was under investigation by the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency. He was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He was a deputy to the 11th and 12th National People's Congress. He was the first notable figure implicated in corruption following the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party on October 24, 2017. He is the third academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering whose title has been revoked in the past two years, after Li Ning and Zhou Guotai. Meng Wei has been stripped of his post and party membership on April 4, 2018.

Chinese Doctors is a 2021 Chinese disaster film co-produced, co-cinematographed and directed by Andrew Lau and starring Zhang Hanyu, Yuan Quan, Zhu Yawen, Li Chen, with Jackson Yee and Oho Ou. The film follows the story of frontline medical workers fought against the COVID-19 pandemic in Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, Hubei, China. The film premiered in China on 9 July 2021, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party. The film received mixed to positive reviews and won Best Music at the 34th Golden Rooster Awards.
