Chip Chilla was criticized by many people seeing it as an blatant right-wing rip-off of Bluey . [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] On The Today Show, the news channel acknowledged the show where two actors in Bluey and Bingo costumes join them, when asking the Bluey performer how they feel about the show, they just turn around and swish their tail around as a rude gesture.
The show is also criticized for the main characters having prideful and self-centered personalities, this is evident in the episode "The Fall of Room" where Chip pretends to be Julius Caesar where he treats his house like an empire, where it was later trashed by his family as an act of rebellion. What also is criticized is that the father Chum Chum mainly comes up with the lessons instead of the family, the main premise of the children being homeschooled also meant less locations could've been explored outside of their home.
