ChopChop: The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families is a quarterly children's magazine published by ChopChop Kids, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2010 by cookbook author Sally Sampson. [1] [2] It is based in Watertown, Massachusetts, United States.

Contents

The content in ChopChop is designed to teach cooking and nutrition to children for the purpose of combating childhood obesity. [3] [4] Each issue has 12 recipes which are selected as nutritious, ethnically diverse, and inexpensive to make, as well as games, exercises, and food facts.

ChopChop is distributed by subscription in both English and Spanish in seven countries, as well as at pedriatic offices, hospitals, community centers, schools, farmers' markets, and grocery stores. [3] About 500,000 copies of each issue are produced. [5]

Recognition

In 2013, ChopChop received the James Beard Foundation Award for Publication of the Year. [6] ChopChop was also the winner of the 2013 Parents' Choice Magazine Award (gold). [7] The magazine is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, [8] the Parents' Choice Foundation, [9] and The White House's "Let's Move" campaign. [10]

Jacques Pépin is a French chef, author, culinary educator, television personality, and artist. After having been the personal chef of French President Charles de Gaulle, he moved to the US in 1959 and after working in New York's top French restaurants, refused the same job with President John F. Kennedy in the White House and instead took a culinary development job with Howard Johnson's. During his career, he has served in numerous prestigious restaurants, first, in Paris, and then in America. He has appeared on American television and has written for The New York Times, Food & Wine and other publications. He has authored more than 30 cookbooks, some of which have become best sellers. Pépin was a longtime friend of the American chef Julia Child, and their 1999 PBS series Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home won a Daytime Emmy Award. Kosher.com is a food and lifestyle media company featuring kosher recipes, videos, and articles on their website and social media accounts. Launched in December 2016, Kosher.com has grown to over 11,000 recipes and over 1,000 videos as of 2023. The website is a platform for a collection of recipes that are reprinted from cookbooks, kosher food magazine archives, and original recipes from direct contributors, making it the most diverse collection of kosher-only recipes. The site is especially known for its Jewish holiday recipe collections, especially its robust section of Passover recipes which meet the halachic criteria of kosher for Passover food, and includes other holidays like Rosh Hashanah and Hanukkah as well.
