Chris Athens is an American mastering engineer from Austin, Texas. He began his career at Sony Music Studios in New York in the mid-90s, where he worked until 1998, when he moved to Sterling Sound, where he worked for 13 years. [1] He founded his own studio, Chris Athens Masters, in his hometown of Austin, Texas, where he currently operates.
As of 2023, Athens is a six-time Grammy Awards nominee. He received his first Grammy Award for Best Historical Album nomination at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000 for Sony Music 100 Years: Soundtrack for a Century.
His work with Canadian musician Drake earned him two Grammy Award for Album of the Year nominations – at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards in 2017 for Views and at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in 2019 for Scorpion , as well as a Grammy Award for Record of the Year nomination for "God's Plan". He also has two Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical nominations for Ella Mai's eponymous debut studio album and Robert Glasper's Black Radio III . [2]
In 2018, at the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards Athens received two Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year nominations for Bomba Estéreo's "Internacionales" and Rosalía's "Malamente". The following year, at the 20th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, he achieved his third nomination in the respective category with Rosalía's "Aute Cuture", along the way winning a Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year and a Latin Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album both for Rosalía's El mal querer . At the 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards held in 2021, C. Tangana's song "Te Olvidaste" brought the engineer his fourth Record of the Year nomination, while C. Tangana's album El Madrileño gave him an Album of the Year nomination and Best Engineered Album win. [3]
The Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year is an honor presented annually at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and creates a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to the performers, producers, audio engineers and mastering engineers for vocal or instrumental albums with 51 percent of new recorded songs. Albums of previously released recordings, such as reissues, compilations of old recordings and greatest hits albums packages are not eligible. Due to the increasing musical changes in the industry, from 2012 the category includes 10 nominees, according to a restructuration made by the academy for the four general categories: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best New Artist and Album of the Year.Beginning in 2018, songwriters are eligible for the accolade if 33% of the playing time are composed by them.

Natalia "Nathy" Peluso is an Argentine, Spanish and Italian singer. Born in Argentina and raised in Spain, Peluso became interested in the performing arts at an early age, performing cover songs at musical bars in her teenage years. After graduating King Juan Carlos University, Peluso relocated to Barcelona to pursue a professional career in music, with her first releases Esmeralda (2017) and La Sandunguera (2018) being confected independently. Peluso slowly started to become recognized in Spain. El Madrileño is the second studio album by Spanish rapper and singer-songwriter C. Tangana. Written by Tangana and co-produced with Alizzz, the album was released through Sony Music on February 26, 2021. With this record, Tangana ventured into a more organic and guitar oriented sound to his previous hip hop and urban releases, focusing in a collaboration album as a tribute to his wide roots. Twelve out of fourteen tracks are in collaboration with other renowned Latin folk, rock or flamenco artists from many countries and ages. The result is a colored mosaic of Tangana's teenage influences and the adoption of a new alter ego named after the album.
