Chris Clemence (born March 17, 1986) is an American tattoo artist, songwriter, bassist, and fashion designer. As a musician he is best known for his work as a solo artist and as a member of RapScallions. Clemence is currently the owner of Montauk Tattoo located in Montauk, New York [1] [2] as well as his stylized shoe brand Tattshoos. [3]

Clemence grew up in East Hampton, New York. [4]

Music Career

Chris has co-written several hit songs including "California Brain" off of RapScallions first self-titled EP released in 2011. "California Brain" was featured in Ubisoft's "Rocksmith" on Xbox and PlayStation. [5] Clemence and the band earned a Platinum Video Game Award for "California Brain" selling over 5 million copies worldwide in Rocksmith. [6] "California Brain" charted at #70 [7] and was listed as #10 in the Top Songs about California in 2011 among Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Death Cab For Cutie.

In 2013 RapScallions released "Got Your Love Comin'". The single was featured as iHeart Radio's "Music You Should Know" on over 65 Clear Channel radio stations nationwide. [8]

In 2014 RapScallions released "Can You Feel It". The single became a sports anthem, airing in the stadiums of many NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB teams during their games. [9] "Can You Feel It" was also aired at the World Cup 2014, The Stanley Cup Finals 2015, and Super Bowl XLIX. [10] The song was also featured in Carl's Jr. All Natural Burger campaign [11] "Can You Feel It" was licensed by Harley-Davidson for a radio ad campaign. [12]

As a solo artist Clemence wrote the New York anthem "Let's Go" that was an official song for the NY Rangers, NY Giants, and NY Knicks with Cro Mags founder Harley Flanagan, and Madison Square Garden DJ Ray Castoldi that was released in 2016. The song was played during games at Madison Square Garden and Giants Stadium. [13] [14] [15] The song also aired at NRG Stadium in Houston during Super Bowl LI.

In 2017 Clemence co-wrote "Revolution" with Dead Kennedy's DH Peligro. [16]

Clemence has been featured in several brand collaborations for advertisements including Bentley Motors and William Henry Jewelry. [17]

Tattoo Career

Chris completed a traditional tattoo apprenticeship under legendary tattoo artist Greg James in Los Angeles and worked at Tattoos Deluxe before opening Montauk Tattoo in Montauk, New York. [18] He regularly tours across the United States, tattooing in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, New York City and Detroit. [19]

In 2020 Clemence organized a partnership with the Los Angeles Kings to do hockey style flash tattoos for LA King's fans. [20]

Clemence is also the owner of Tattshoos, a stylized shoe brand featuring his custom hand painted designs. In 2021 ePlay Digital announced a collaboration with Tattshoos and Howie Mandel to create an exclusive line of digital and physical sneakers for mobile games, NFT marketplaces, in the Klocked app. [21]

Death Rap is the fifth solo studio album by American rapper and record producer Necro. It was released on September 11, 2007 via Psycho+Logical-Records. It was the first studio album Necro released since signing with Koch Distribution in July 2007. As the title suggests, the album is Necro's return to emphasis on gore and violence, rather than sex, such as in his 2005 album The Sexorcist. Pre-orders of the album were shipped with a limited edition bonus DVD that contained an unreleased music video and six live performances. Like his last album, Necro chose not to place a parental advisory sticker on the cover.

Revenge is the fifth studio album by New York hardcore band Cro-Mags. It was released in 2000 on their own label Cro-Mag Recordings and was the band's first studio album in seven years, as well as their first release with guitarist Rocky George and its first without vocalist John Joseph since 1989's Best Wishes. As he did on Best Wishes, bassist Harley Flanagan handled the vocals on this album. Revenge was also the Cro-Mags' last full-length studio album until the release of In the Beginning in 2020.

Rocksmith is a music video game produced by Ubisoft, released in October 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms in North America. Rocksmith was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during September 2012 in Australian and European markets and October 2012 in Japan. A Windows version was released on October 16, 2012, after several delays. The game's main feature is that, unlike other rhythm games such as Guitar Hero that require proprietary controllers to play, Rocksmith instead allows players to plug in virtually any electric guitar and play along via a USB adapter.

Rocksmith 2014 is a music video game produced by Ubisoft. It is a followup to the 2011 game Rocksmith, but has been described as a replacement to the original game rather than a sequel. Like its predecessor, the game allows players to plug in virtually any electric guitar or bass guitar and play along via the use of a USB adapter – removing the need for any proprietary controller like other music games such as Guitar Hero. The game comes with 66 songs on disk, with over a thousand more available to download as paid DLC. He is known for his extensive tattoos and political lyrics, which often employ anti-establishment rhetoric and criticize woke culture.
